2005 FORD ESCAPE XLT ROLL OVER RESULTED IN A FATAL DEATH. THE LIFT GATE AND DOOR WERE OPENED DURING THE ROLL OVER OF SUV. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOYED. I LOST MY WIFE IN THIS ROLL OVER. MY SELF AND MY BROTHER'S WIFE GOT MAJOR INJURIES. THIS MODEL HAS AUTOMATIC 4 WHEEL ENGAGEMENT. DURING THE CRASH THE ENGINE PUMPED MORE POWER TO THE WHEELS. TRIED TO CONTROL BUT BECUASE OF MORE POWER FROM THE ENGINE THE DRIVER COULD NOT CONTROL IT AND GOT OVER CORRECTED WHICH ENDED UP IN DITCH. THAT FINALLY, ENDED UP IN A ROLL OVER. MY WIFE GOT EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE AND DIED ON THE SPOT DUE TO BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO HEAD AND CHEST. *JB

I AM A HEALTHY, ACTIVE 42 YEAR OLD WOMAN NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY AND MAY EVEN NEED TO BE RECALLED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS INSTALLED EFFICIENTLY. THE BURNS SUSTAINED TO MY ARMS ARE NOT CONSISTENT WITH TYPICAL BURNS FROM AIRBAGS THAT I HAVE RESEARCHED. 9-1-04 MY 2005 FORD ESCAPE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE OF MY HOME WHERE I BEGAN TO BACK UP. THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION IN MY DRIVEWAY SO I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND PULLED 1/2 WAY INTO THE GARAGE TO CLEAR THE WAY. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, OPENED MY DOOR, TOOK OFF MY SEATBELT AND GOT OUT OF MY CAR WALKING TOWARDS THE REAR. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED IN REVERSE KNOCKING ME DOWN BECAUSE OF THE OPEN DOOR. I JUMPED INTO THE CAR (WHERE MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE BACK SEAT) TO PLACE THE CAR IN PARK-IT WAS IN PARK AND ROLLING FAST. I USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITH THE HELP OF THE OPEN DOOR JAMMING ALONG SIDE THE GARAGE WALL. THE END RESULT WAS SHOULDER AND COLLAR BONE DAMAGE AS WELL AS SEVER BODY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE OPEN DOOR. IF THE DOOR HAD NOT BEEN OPEN, MY CHILDREN WOULD HAVE ROLLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND BEEN HIT HEAD ON. I AM POSITIVE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS NEW CAR, YET THE GALPIN VAN NUYS FORD DEALERSHIP HAS REFUSED TO INSPECT IT FOR SAFETY. THEY INSISTED THAT I FIRST FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE CARRIER, WHICH I DID AND STILL HAVE BEEN REFUSED THE SAFETY INSPECTION BY FORD AND THE DEALERSHIP LEVEL AND THE CORPORATE LEVEL. Hello, The engine cradle subframe on my 2005 Ford Escape has completely rusted through on the right hand side where it attaches to the steering control arm. As I was driving the subframe broke which made it impossible to steer the car. This pulled my car off the road to the passenger side. Fortunately I was not injured. Having now researched this issue, it is a common problem with 2005 Ford Escapes. This is very dangerous, and it should be addressed as it creates a life threatening situation.

THIS VEHICLE AND EVERY OTHER ONE I HAVE SEEN HAS HAD THE REAR WHEEL WELL RUST OUT AND HAVE THE SHOCK GO UP THROUGH THE SHOCK TOWER..IT DOES NOT MATTER THE BRAND EITHER.. FORD CHEVY OR DODGE, THEY ALL DO IT.. WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS HELP US OUT, AND MAKE THESE CAR COMPANIES STAND BEHIND THERE SHEET METAL FOR AT LEAST A 100 THOUSAND MILES.. WE PAY ENOUGH FOR THESE VEHICLES.. I AM NOT RICH YOU KNOW..
