I WAS DRIVING AND THE TRUCK JUST STOP. IT WOULD NOT GO UNTIL I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN. THEN, IT TOOK OFF FAST AND SLOWED DOWN AGAIN. WE HAD TO PUSH THE CAR HOME! LUCKILY, WE WAS NOT TOO FAR FROM HOME. WE WAS ON OUR WAY TO CHURCH, INSTEAD PUSHING A HEAVY TRUCK IN OUR GOOD CLOTHES. A HOT MESS. WE HAD THIS TRUCK A OUT 11 MONTHS. I BOUGHT A WARRANTY BUT GUESS WHAT IT DID NOT COVER THE THROTTLE BODY. ITS AT THE FORD DEALER CAUSING $410.00 THAT I DO NOT HAVE; PLUS THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. IT COULD TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS TO GET HERE. *TR
The airbag on the driver's side did not deploy when the vehicle was hit from behind. -It is available for inspection -I was injured -I have not had the airbag inspected by a dealer, but did have the car repaired at an auto collision repair shop -The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance rep or dealer, but did have an annual inspection by an auto shop before the failure -There were no warning messages prior to the failure
Available for inspection upon request. Front SUB- FRAME RUSTED IN 2 ON RIGHT LOWER SIDE. Right lower control arm bushing pulled out of arm. Driving on highway car without warning jerked off the road. Could have killed everyone in the car had it collided with anything. Car is completely in drivable because it is not safe. Problem has been confirmed. No there was not any warning lights or warning. I was told by a ford mechanic that there is no way that this car should have a subframe rust through.

THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TREE AND FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES OVER. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP FACING THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STREET. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A RIGHT HAND AND WRIST INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
2010 FORD ESCAPE WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, BUT VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO GAIN SPEED AND GO FORWARD STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE. UNINTENDED ACCELERATION
I SENT THIS EMAIL TO FORD IN SEPTEMBER 2014 I WAS IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT WHERE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT A DEER WHICH LANDED ON THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WHICH SHATTERED INTO THOUSANDS OF TINY SHARDS OF GLASS. FOR OVER 2 YEARS, I HAVE BEING DEALING WITH THOUSANDS OF TINY SHARDS EMBEDDED THROUGH OUT MY BODY (FACE, LIPS, HANDS, ARMS, LEGS, NECK, CHEST) WHICH OVER TIME ARE WORKING THEIR WAY OUT. IT IS VERY PAINFUL AND LEAVING SCARS AND DISRUPTING MY SLEEP ON A REGULAR BASIS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, I TURNED ON THE HEAT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HUNDREDS OF SHARDS OF GLASS BLEW OUT THE HEATER VENTS. MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER IS [XXX]. I THINK YOU SHOULD TEST THE WINDSHIELDS OF SIMILAR CARS FROM THAT LOT TO MAKE SURE THE SAFETY GLASS WAS PROPERLY KILNED OR WHATEVER TREATMENT PROCESS SO THAT OTHERS DO NOT POTENTIALLY EXPERIENCE THE SAME INCIDENT. I QUESTION ALSO IF THE IMPACT EXPLODED THE GLASS IN A SIMILAR WAY THE REAR WINDOW HATCH GLASS THAT IS FREQUENTLY FOUND ON-LINE AND IF THE MANUFACTURER OF THE WINDSHIELDS HAD SOME TYPE OF QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE. AT A LOST OF WORDS GIVEN THIS IS THE SECOND EMAIL I AM SENDING TO YOUR CORPORATION REGARDING THIS INCIDENT. TAKATA RECALL / FORD DEFECTIVE PRODUCT LOW MILEAGE ESCAPE INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL CRASH AND REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE (2005 ACCURA) AND THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILED TO DEPLOY. $13,000 ESCAPE WAS TOTALED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND THE STABILIZATION FEATURE CAUSED THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRES TO DEFLATE. THE CONTACT APPLIED FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A GUARDRAIL AND FLIP OVER MORE THAN TWICE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, MOUTH, AND THE RIGHT EAR LOBE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION MONTHS AFTER THE CRASH FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING) HOWEVER THE FAILURE OCCURRED BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS ABLE TO BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,428.
I HAD JUST TURNED LEFT UNDER AN UNDERPAS AND WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE UNDER AN OVERPASS I REMEMBER THINKING "WOW. THIS IS APOWERFUL ENGINE." A CAR WAS COMING IN FRONT OF ME AND WHEN I BRAKE IT DID NOT SLOW DOWN AND I HIT THE CAR AND THAT'S ALL I REMEMBER WHEN I CAME TOO THE HORN WAS BLOWING AND TWO PEOPLE WERE POUNDING ON MY WINDOWS AND MY EMERGENCY BAG HAD DEPLOYED, I WAS RELEASED. THEY GAVE ME FIRST AID UNTIL THE AMBULANCE CAME, TREATED ME AND TOOK ME TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. THEY KEPT ME OVERNIGHT. I BELIEVE BECAUSE I HAD A CONCUSSION. I WAS VERY CONFUSED. THEY KEPT ME OVERNIGHT AND WENT HOME THE NEXT DAY. THE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE WAS IN ACCESS OF $16,000.00. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE LIMITED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING 5 MPH THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED, CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE WITH THE STEERING LOSS AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD AND ARM INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 27,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT WAS SITTING IDLE WITH THE BRAKES DEPRESSED. AS HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF HIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS SCHEDULE TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE BODY DAMAGE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD BE INSPECTED FOR INTERNAL FAILURES. THE CONTACT AND A PASSENGER WERE REPORTED INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS INSPECTED FIVE TIMES PRIOR IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V222000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THERE WERE NO FURTHER REPAIRS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
Power steering quits working without notice and ford says it’s not a recall in this vehicle but it says everywhere that it’s a known recall issue
I was driving at a speed of less than 40mph. I was going around a curve and the wheel felt as though it yanked from my hand to the right and I went into the ditch and up the embankment. I was unable to control the wheel. I came to a stop partially on my side due to the steep incline. Due to the snow and ice in the ditch, many components under my right side were broken and torn off making it difficult to see all the damage. My car was totaled. Police responded and I was helped out of my vehicle. The tow company came and towed it. No warning lights were on. I am very lucky to be alive- if I had been going any faster I would likely have rolled my vehicle due to the lack of control I had of the wheel and tires. It felt as though it was "slippery" under my grip, like the wheel wasn't controlled tightly by my steering. I was not majorly injured but am very sore and will need continued chiropractic care of my neck and right hip and shoulder.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH in the snow and icy road conditions, power steering failed and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The contact stated that no warning lights were illuminated. As a result of the failure, the contact crashed into a ditch. The contact stated that there were no injuries sustained, nor was medical attention needed. The contact stated that her husband was on the passenger side during the incident but was able to drive her vehicle to her residence after the crash. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and was advised to call NHTSA to check for a recall on the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The mileage failure was 166,000.
I was driving turning right and my steering wheel locked up and I hit a tree I seen my model car has a recall #14s05

THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING TORQUE SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (MAC HAIK FORD PASADENA IN PASADENA, TX) WAS NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING), ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
ESCAPE WAS IMPACTED FROM BEHIND BY A 2012 FORD F150 AT THAT WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. AS THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT PUSHED ME (THE DRIVER) BACK INTO THE DRIVER SEAT THE SEAT BROKE.
I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WITH THE BRAKE ENGAGED, AND MY CAR LUNGED FORWARD INTO THE CAR AHEAD OF ME, DAMAGING IT'S LIFTGATE (MINIVAN) AND BUMPER. I INITIALLY THOUGHT SOMEONE MUST HAVE REAR-ENDED MY CAR, PUSHING ME INTO THE OTHER CAR, BUT I WAS NOT HIT FROM BEHIND. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE ENTIRE TIME. I AM CONCERNED THIS MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN, INJURING SOMEONE POSSIBLY IN A CROSSWALK, OR LUNGING ME INTO CROSS TRAFFIC.
I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP.BWHIND A VEHICLE AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I RELEASED THE GAS, MY VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AND HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. FRON THAT DAY FORWARD, MY VEHICLE HAD FREQUENTLY SURGED FORWARD OR REVED UP QHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP. NOW, MY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. THE ONLY LIGHT I SEE IS THE WRENCH LIGHT AND THAT'S ONLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ROLLING TO A STOP AFTER SHUTTING OFF.
