Hi, my name is [XXX] and I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, I bought this car on July of 2021 and I started to have problems on October of 2022 the car was shaking but it wasn’t that bad, but on Nov of 2022 I was traveling from Phoenix to Nogales AZ driving at approximately 75m/h and the car started to shake really bad I almost lost control of the car it felt like the car was gonna fall apart, I had my daughter with me she’s traumatized she has Down syndrome she doesn’t like getting in the car no more and I don’t blame her, so once I was back to Phoenix I went to the Jeep dealership and they told me it was a problem with the steering wheel and that they have to order the part, I waited close to 3 months and they didn’t have the part, on Feb 20 2023 I had a car accident caused by the death wobble, I was driving on the freeway at approximately 60m/h and on a little bump the car started to wobble really bad that I lost control of it and hit the median cable barriers and damaged the front of the car I got really traumatized and got a ticket that day, I tried to talk with the Jeep company and they said that the car wasn’t cover by the warranty no more. I missed work that day and my car for like 2 months until it was completely fixed, this is a very danger situation people can loose their life with this problem. On January 2, 2023, at about 4:00 PM I encountered the ‘Death Wobble’ while driving in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler (2-door) VIN: [XXX], purchased from Dave Smith Motors, Kellogg, ID on about 7/17/2020. I was driving North on I-15 about 10 miles South of Nephi, UT. I was traveling in the left lane at Freeway speeds (75-80 mph) when the front of the vehicle commenced to shake violently. My first thought was that both front tires had blown, although I did not observe any obstacles on the wet driving lanes. My second thought was, how do I get out of these mess without causing a major accident on that very busy stretch of Freeway holiday traffic? I, of course, braked and pulled to the left in an attempt to avoid getting rear-ended and immediately encountered snow and ice on the left shoulder and then on the ground adjacent to the Freeway. I managed to get off the Freeway, but continued to fishtail, almost losing control on the snow and ice. Eventually the vehicle ended up in a sideways slide perpendicular to the Freeway with the front of the vehicle aimed at the Freeway and heavy TRAFFIC! At that point I had no control over the vehicle as it continued to slide sideways headed for a huge drainage ditch. Luckily, we stopped before the precipice. I scrambled out of the vehicle as soon as it stopped sliding to see what had happened to the front end of the Jeep. There was no obvious damage, the tires were not flat, and I couldn’t figure out what had happened. I have now received a NOTICE OF PROPOSED CLASS SETTLEMNT, that upon further research informs me that 2020 Jeep Wranglers have a manufacture defect that causes the ‘Death Wobble’ in precisely the conditions that existed with me. “…2020 Jeep Wranglers …have a front suspension steering damper defect that causes the steering wheel and front suspension of the vehicle to shake after contact with a bumpy road surface at highway speed.” I was not aware of the Manufacturer's defect. The JEEP is unsafe!! INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (F
Steering wheel locked while attempting a right turn. This resulted in an accident when vehicle would not turn. After cutting off vehicle and restarting, steering appeared normal.
Engine surges forward when coming to a stop (brakes applied) or when at a complete stop and the engine is in drive.this happened in Aug 2020 with 5000 miles on Odometer, and again in June 2022 with 26000 miles.
While driving down the highway, hit a pothole, and the vehicle started to shake very violently. Was unable to control the vehicle and crashed against the guardrail causing damage to the vehicle. This happened on January 22, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas.
When in the automatic shut off mode, the car will lurch forward forcefully when trying to park. The vehicle will jump the cement parking barriers and can cause the vehicle to hit what is beyond the barrier, such as the wall of the building beyond the barrier.

AS SLOWING DOWN TOWARDS A RED LIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED UP . PRESSED BRAKE TO FULL (AGAIN, NO FOOT ON GAS), ENGINE CONTINUED REVVING AT HIGH RPM. JEEP LURCHED FORWARD THREE TIMES AND REAR ENDED CAR IN FRONT WAITING AT THE LIGHT. 4 WHEEL DRIVE WAS NOT MANUALLY TURNED ON, BUT FELT LIKE THE FRONT WHEELS HAD LOCKED BUT THE BACK WHEELS KEPT LURCHING THE JEEP FORWARD. AGAIN THE ENGINE WAS RACING EVEN THOUGH GAS PEDAL WAS NOT PRESSED. PLEASE NOTE: THIS VEHICLE IS A RENTAL FROM AVIS.

My Jeep Wrangler 2020 Sports Unlimited started malfunctioning on the road and the Jeep stopped, started smoking, caught on fire, and Blew up
Unknown what started the issue. While driving it, service electronic control dash light went on. The vehicle started losing power. We were able to get to the highway shoulder. Other dash lights were going on as we were moving over. Immediately after putting it in park and turning the vehicle off, smoke started billowing out from the hood. The vehicle engine was on fire and it was completely destroyed. The only on-going issue we had with it was auto start/stop with both auxiliary and main battery having to be replaced twice over the course of 4 years. There was an active recall for fuel pump component and we were on a waiting list for parts from the dealer since Sept 2023 and we were still waiting.
