MY HUSBAND HAD A HORRIFIC ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. HE WAS TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, DRIVING ON AN UNFAMILIAR COUNTY HIGHWAY WHEN HE APPROACHED A CURVE IN THE ROAD, HIS VEHICLE LEFT THE ROAD, ROLLED, BECAME AIR BORN, HIT A UTILITY POLE WHILE AIR BORN HARD ENOUGH TO SNAP IT IN HALF AND MOVE THE PART OF THE POLE THAT'S IN THE GROUND ABOUT TWO FEET, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AND LANDED UP SIDE DOWN. NOT ONE SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. MY HUSBAND WASN'T WEARING HIS SEAT BELT AND WAS THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE. I'M NOT EXCUSING HIS ACTIONS, BUT THE OTHER SAFETY FEATURE DIDN'T PERFORM AS WELL. I'VE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY IN RETURN TURNED IT OVER TO ESIS THEY'RE ADDRESS IS ESIS/GM CENTRAL CLAIMS UNIT. P.O BOX 300 MAILCODE 482-C19-B61 DETROIT, MI. 48265-3000. PHONE NUMBER 800-888-0164 FAX 248-778-1794. I SENT ESIS MULTIPLE PICTURES OF THE TOTALED VEHICLE SHOWING THAT NOT ONE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. I'VE RECEIVED A LETTER BACK FROM ESIS RELATING THAT THEY HAVE COMPLETED THEIR REVIEW OF MY CLAIM, BASED ON ALL DOCUMENTATION REVIEWED. ALSO TELLING ME THAT IF I HAVE ANY FURTHER EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT MY CLAIM TO PLEASE SUBMIT IT TO THEM. ARE PICTURES OF A TOTALED OUT VEHICLE THAT SUFFERED SEVERE DAMAGE BUT YET NO SIGNS OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT NOT PROOF ENOUGH? I'VE ASKED ESIS HOW MANY MORE VEHICLES LIKE OURS MAY BE OUT THERE. NO RESPONSE. MY HUSBAND SUFFERED SEVERE BRAIN TRAUMA, A BROKEN NECK, STERNUM, FOUR BROKEN RIBS, BROKEN RIGHT LEG IN MULTIPLE PLACES AND A BROKEN LEFT ARM THAT WAS ALSO BROKEN IN MULTIPLE PLACES. HE HAD HIS ACCIDENT ON MARCH 12TH 2018 AND DIED AS A RESULT OF IT ON AUGUST 7TH 2018. ESIS HASN'T OFFERED TO PROVIDE ME WITH A COPY OF THEIR FINDINGS NEITHER. Vehicle was involved in motor vehicle collision. This unit was struck broadside by a semi resulting in the cab and box of this unit to separate from the frame. The frame of this unit, cab, and box all came to final rest in different locations in the scene with the driver remaining in the driver seat.
Collided with a bear at 55mph with significant front end damage. Air bags were commanded to deploy and never did. I have contacted GM about the problem and have been told to wait for a claim advisor as no recalls are active on my vehicle.
# 1 is the 4l60E transmission that sits on the exhaust and runs next to it on the opposite side the heat from the trans itself and the exhaust overheat the gasket which causes weak spots that leak along with burning up the 3-4 clutch. Lost everything but 1&2,R,N on trip to Illinois on way back went to speed up to pass and all sudden the engine started tacking out and leaking fluid. I applied fluid all the way home at a speed of 45mph in a 70 mph limit which caused a major safety hazard with traffic. Took to trans shop said the 3-4 clutch was fried and was no good due to overheating and loss fluid from damaged gasket that's split on the stamps from AC Delco. 2nd issue arises out 1rst, even more dangerous to point of dragging me down drive way and cutting into my leg leaving a small scar. When wheels are chalked , E brake applied the vehical should not move, so after doing so I climbed under and unhooked the shift cable from the trans instantly with dog in truck it began rolling right over me I grabbed the frame and stopped it for a few sec then boom it went again I had spin around or my legs or head would've be smashed to Oblivion. At that point it just kept going as it cut into my leg, I let it roll over me hopped up and tried trow it in park yet no cable attached it wouldn't stop and just kept going till it hit a small ditch at end my drive and half way in the road.My leg was cut and I was scratched up in many spots yet dog was ok. The trans quitting lead to the unhooking of the cable then the e/p brake not holding due to worn brake shins in the rear which have calipers so if the calpier would've held with the brake it'd been fine but under everything is a set small and thin pads that hold the truck when brake applied. There was a recall (#05042). Yet my vin was not included, chevy was called yet denied any responsibility of either matter or action to cure it. These defects could've killed me, decapitated, or killed my service dog!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD PRIOR TO THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT ANOTHER VEHICLE COLLIDED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000. A TRUCK WENT THO A RED LIGHT AS I WAS UNDER THE LIGHT HEADING EAST AND THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS AT STOP LIGHT AND FOR UNKNOWN REASON IT TOOK OFF HITTING THE FRONT OF MY RIGHT FENDER AND PUTTING ME INTO A SPIN. AT FIRST I DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED. THE MY VAN STOPPED. THE POLICE ASKED IF I WAS OK. I SAID NO.I GOT HIT IN THE FACE AND RIGHT ARM BY THE 2 AIR BAGS IN FRONT. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VAN. THE AIR BAGS WERE BROKE OPEN. NEVER HAD ACCIDENT BEFORE WERE AIR BAG WENT OFF. DID NOT KNOW HOW THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO LOOK. TILL I SEEN ON THE TV RECALLS. AND THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BREAK OPEN.THE JELL BEHIND MY RIGHT EYE SPLIT. I HAVE TO SEE A DR. EVERY 6 MONTHS NOW TO CHECK PRESSURE IN EYE FOR GLAUCOMA NOW. *TR

MY DAUGHTER AND I LEFT A RESTAURANT AND WENT ABOUT 200 FEET TO A BUSY INTERSECTION AND I WENT TO STOP AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR NO WARNING OR ANYTHING JUST NO BRAKES AT ALL WE COULD OF BOTH BEEN KILLED A JEEP WAS TURNING AND I TRIED MY BEST TO AVOID HITTING HIM BUT I HAD NO WERE TO GO AND AFTER THE WRECK I NOTICED BRAKE FLUID POURING OUT UNDER THE DRIVERSIDE DOOR THE BRAKES HAD JUST BEEN CHANGED A FEW MONTHS EARLIER AND THE MEC NEVER NOTICED RUSTY BRAKE LINES BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN PAINTED OVER WHEN MY DAD BOUGHT THE TRUCK BUT BY LOOKING AT THEM THEY LOOKED OK BUT THERE IS 4 LINES RUNNING 2GETHER AND YOU CAN'T SEE THE BACK 2 BUT WHEN I HAD THEM REPLACED WITH STAINLESS STEEL LINES I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW GM WOULD USE SUCH POOR QUALITY OF LINES ON SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS BRAKE LINES THERE ARE THOUSANDS OTHERFAMILIES LIVES AT RISK RIGHT NOW HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO GET HURT OR EVEN GET KILLED BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING IM LUCKY MY DAUGHTER AND I WASN'T KILLED I HAVE GOT A 49 KAISER AND THE LINES ON IT ARE STILL IN PERFECT SHAPE BUT I CANT BELIEVE HOW ROTTEN ALL THE LINES WERE ON MY TRUCK AND WE DON'T EVEN GET MUCH SNOW IN TN WHY HAVE THEY GOT AWAY WITH THIS HOW MANY PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES HAVE TO UNKNOWINGLY RISK THERE LIFE EVERY DAY BEFORE SOME ONE DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT IS GM PAYING PEOPLE OFF OR WHAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO ON THE KEDSHOULD ATLEAST SEND THE OWNERS OF THESE CARS TO ATLEAST GET THEM CHECKED OUT SO PEOPLE DON'T PUT THERE LIVES OF RISK. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS NOT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE POLICE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MODERATE DAMAGES AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS REPLACED. RECENTLY, ON FEBRUARY 21, 2009, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE POLICE AND AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
DRIVER AIR BAG SENSOR FAILURE AFTER IMPACT ON ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCK, OTHER DRIVER CAME ALMOST HEAD ON IN MY LANE TRIED AVOIDING GOT HIT ON PASSENGER SIDE REAR QUARTER PANEL,CAUSED VEHICLE TO SPIN TWICE DUE TO DRIVE SHAFT BROKE UPON 1ST IMPACT,LOST CONTROL OF CAR AFTER SPINNING I WAS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE WHICH CRASHED FRONT END TO DRIVER SIDE OF ANOTHER CAR. DRIVER THAT HIT ME ON 1ST IMPACT WAS CHARGED WITH DWI AND NO INSURANCE. FUNNY THING I WAS ASKED BY POLICE IF FRONT AIR BAG WAS DEPLOYED,AND TOLD HIM NO. BUT WAS NOT NOTED ON HIS REPORT. BOTTOM LINE I HAVE NECK INJURY WHICH I'M TREATING THAT DON'T KNOW THE FINAL OUTCOME YET. *JB

I HAVE HAD TWO MAJOR HITS TO THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT BRAND NEW.FIRST WAS I BEAM THRU THE FRONT BUMPER ON INTERSTATE DRIVING 70 MPH,NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.SECOND HEAD ON WITH LARGE DEER,AT ABOUT 45 MPH TO GRILL, BUMPER ,HEAD LIGHTS, HOOD, RADIATOR AND FRAME WHICH ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED,NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.I NOW HAVE WELL OVER 200,000 MILES AND 10,000 MILES BACK MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON,CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY NOW. DOES IT MEAN NO AIRBAG?QUESTION BEING WERE THEY EVER OPERABLE?BOTH ACCIDENTS WERE STRAIGHT DIRECTION AND ON 4 LANE HIGHWAY.IF ADDITIONAL INFO IS NEEDED I CAN PROVIDE.I REALLY LIKE MY TRUCK BUT AM DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED RECALL ON AIRBAGS.
THE LOSS OF STEERING CAUSED MY 2004 SILVERADO 1500 TO VEER TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED VEERING TO THE LEFT, DESPITE ME TRYING TO GAIN CONTROL OF IT. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE HIGHWAY AND ENTERED A SANDY FIELD. I APPLIED BRAKES WITH ALL OF MY FOOT FORCE, BUT THE TRUCK SEEMED NOT TO SLOW UP ANY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOW HEADED TOWARDS A WOODED AREA. THE TRUCK SUDDENLY CAME TO A SUDDEN HALT WHEN IT IMPACTED WITH A BIG PINE TREE. THE AIRBAGS EXPLODED AGAINST MY ARMS AS I USED THEM TO SHIELD MY FACE. I SUDDENLY NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I GRABBED MY PURSE AND HURRIEDLY VACATED THE VEHICLE. I CALLED 911 AFTER GETTING FAR ENOUGH FROM THE SMOKING TRUCK. I SUFFERED BACK AND NECK PAIN. I HAD DIZZY SPELLS, BECAUSE MY HEAD FELT LIKE A HUMONGOUS BASKETBALL. I AM FORTUNATE THAT I DID NOT LOOSE MY LIFE. I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF A RECALL OF A STEERING COMPONENT. I AM FOR CERTAIN THAT THIS ACCIDENT WAS DUE TO A MALFUNCTION OF A STEERING COMPONENT ON MY 2004 SILVERADO 1500. I RECEIVED NO LETTER OR PHONE CALL MAKING ME AWARE OF THE RECALL. THIS NEGLIGENCE ALMOST GOT ME KILLED. THE VEHICLE IMPACT INTO THE PINE TREE CAUSED A TOTAL LOSS OF MY SILVERADO. I WILL BE CONTACTING MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THIS INFORMATION. ALL THESE YEARS I HAVE BEEN BEWILDERED ABOUT WHY MY SILVERADO VEERED OFF THE ROAD FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I DESCRIBED THE INCIDENT LIKE A TWIGHTLIGHT MOMENT (A WEIRD UNEXPLAINED HAPPENING).
REAR BRAKE LINE BUSTED ON 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT. REALLY DANGEROUS! HAD TO HIT THE CURB TO STOP! THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE STEEL BRAKE LINES! IN THE SHOP NOW TO REPLACE ALL THE BRAKE LINES THAT ARE FAULTY! A COST THAT SHOULD BE PAID BY GM NOT THE CONSUMER OF A FAULTY PRODUCT! *TR
2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EXPERIENCED COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. DRIVING DOWN A SHORT HILL, BRAKE PEDAL PUSHED COMPLETELY TO FLOOR WITH NO BRAKE RESPONSE OR STOPPING AVAILABILITY. DRIVING @ APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD LITTLE EFFECT AND HAD TO TURN INTO A DIRT HILL TO STOP THE TRUCK. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, 4 BRAKE LINES DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE CAB ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WERE COMPLETELY CORRODED WITH 2 LINES FAILING SIMULTANEOUSLY RELEASING BRAKE FLUID ONTO THE GROUND. THE 2 LINES FROM THE PROPORTIONING VALVE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO THE ABS AND THE 2 LINES FROM THE ABS TO THE 2 FRONT WHEELS RUN PARALLEL UNDER THE CAB AND ARE SEVERELY CORRODED IN 2 PLACES ONLY. THE 4 LINES WERE SEVERELY RUSTED AT THE POINT OF THE PLASTIC CLIPS THAT SECURE THE LINES TO THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK. THE PLASTIC CLIPS THAT HOLD THE BRAKE LINES HOLD MOISTURE AND SALT AND CAUSE ALL THE BRAKE LINES TO CORRODE AT THOSE POINTS. IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THERE IS NO RUST IN THE LINES TO THE REAR OF THE TRUCK OR AT BOTH REAR BRAKE CALIPERS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR OR LACK OF MAINTENANCE. I CLEAN THE UNDERSIDE OF MY VEHICLE EVERY WINTER. THE LINES ARE RUSTING AS A RESULT OF THE CLIPS RETAINING SALT AND CORROSIVES AND CAUSING YEAR ROUND CONTACT TO THE BRAKE LINES. IS ANYONE READING OR INVESTIGATING HERE? THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS HERE REGARDING THIS EXACT ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE POST THAT LIST THE CORROSION IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT AS MY TRUCK. THESE LINES RUST NOT FROM NORMAL WEAR BUT BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE CLIP DESIGN. REPAIR ESTIMATE FROM CHEVROLET DEALER IS $1250 TO REPLACE ALL LINES. WHEN WILL GM CONSIDER THIS A DEFECT OR WRITE A SERVICE BULLETIN? *TR

THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A FOUR FOOT TALL CURB AND THE TRANSMISSION PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM GOING OVER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE CONTACT, WHO WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. HE DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
ON 7/3/15, MY HUSBAND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP IN ORDER TO EXIT A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WE (MY HUSBAND, CHILD, AND I) DROVE ACROSS THE MARKED PARKING WAYS AND CRASHED INTO A PARKING LOT SIGN TO MAKE THE VEHICLE COME TO A STOP. UPON EXITING THE TRUCK, MY HUSBAND NOTICED THE BRAKE LINE LEAKING. WE WERE BLESSED THAT WE HAD NOT PULLED ON THE MAIN STREET INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WE HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A SHOP FOR REPAIR. I ALSO CALLED DON MOORE AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAD NO RESPONSE. *TR
I HAD TO STOP TO WAIT FOR A VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN AND AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES THEY AT FIRST WORKED AND THEN THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD TO GO OFF THE ROAD OVER A SMALL BAN INTO A DITCH.
