VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN FRONT IN CRASH AT APPROX. 40MPH ON A CITY STREET. AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED AT A GM DEALERSHIP DUE TO RECALL TOO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, AN ELK RAN INTO THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO POWER CHEVROLET (1422 N. COAST HWY, NEWPORT, OR), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE TORSO, KNEES, HIP, AND NECK, WHICH CAUSED HEADACHES AND NAUSEA WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,100.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS SON CALLED HIM AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE AIR BAGS HIT HIM ON THE SIDE OF HIS HEAD WHEN THEY INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED, HOWEVER MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE CONTACT'S SON DIED THE DAY AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS STILL AWAITING AN AUTOPSY REPORT FOR THE CAUSE OF HIS SON'S DEATH. THE CONTACT STATED HE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V050000 (AIR BAGS) AFTER THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,282.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE AIRBAG WENT OFF AND CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO A POLE
The truck brakes or something locked up and cause me to crash the truck. Police report was filed and insurance company has appraised the truck. No warning lights or anything came on.
Today I rear ended a car with the 2011 Silverado. The drivers airbag in the steering wheel did deploy but not fully, never made contact with me at all. I have kept the truck updated with any recalls done.
WHILE DRIVING ON A TWO LANE ROAD AT ~45 MPH,I STRUCK A DEER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED BUT DID NOT COME OUT OF THE CENTER STEERING. AIR BAG DUST WAS COMING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE STEERING WHEEL, NO AIR BAG. I WAS VERY CONFUSED. THE FRONT BUMPER WAS PUSHED IN ~2.5 INCHES. I AM FORTUNATE THAT I DID NOT HIT ANOTHER CAR, SINCE THE AIRBAG MALFUNCTIONED ON DEPLOYMENT.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING AT 45MPH ON A 4 LANE ROAD. ANOTHER VEHICLE DID NOT YIELD AND I STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN THE SIDE WHILE HE WAS STATIONARY. DURING IMPACT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TOP CONTROL ARM BROKE WHEN I HIT A POLE ON THE REAR OF MY TRUCK. IT SNAPPED OFF AT THE BALL. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND SIDE SWIPED A POLE AT ABOUT 5 MPH. SHOULD NOT HAVE SNAPPED A PART IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK! THERE IS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF CORROSION UNDER MY TRUCK. EVEN BEHIND THE REAR TAIL LIGHT WHICH SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN EXPOSED, THERE'S RUST. THIS TRUCK HAS MORE RUST THAT TRUCKS THAT ARE 30 YEARS OLD.
BRAKES FAILED ON I-26 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP. SPEED WAS BETWEEN 55-60 MPH. TWO CARS WERE HIT. EXAMINATION SHOWED BRAKE FLUID LEAKING AT LEFT FRONT. SUBSEQUENT EXAMINATION BY INSURANCE ADJUSTER FOUND FLUID APPEARED TO BE LEAKING FROM BRAKE LINE. HE WAS NOT SURE IF IT WAS FROM RUBBER HOSE OR METAL TUBING. HE DID SEE CORROSION. VEHICLE HAS UNDER 59K MILES AND IS REGISTERED IN NY. DATE OF ACCIDENT WAS 10/5/18. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT ABRA ASHEVILLE F150, 611 BREVARD RD ASHEVILLE, NC 28806 (828) 210-9292.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE SUDDENLY DROVE THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND GOT T-BONED AND PUSHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE OTHER TWO VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THE CRASH WERE TOTALED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP IN ST. GEORGE, UTAH WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RIMS, GRILL, TIRES, AND HEADLIGHT CAPSULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED AND THE AIR BAG SENSOR SYSTEM WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
