TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MERGE TO THE RIGHT LANE, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A MINOR INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE AND WAS TOWED. THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. AFTER THE REPAIRS, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND DID NOT DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE ROAD. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SEAT BELTS SHOCKED HIM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS EXPOSED AND THE AIR BAG SHOWED BURN MARKS AROUND THE EDGES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
MY FATHER DIED AFTER HAVING A ACCIDENT IN HIS TRUCK ON 11/8/18. I BELIEVE IT IS ATTRIBUTED TO THE RECENT RECALL , LEADING TO HIM DYING AFTER BEING PULLED OUT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND COLLAPSED AFTERWARDS. THE STRESS FROM THIS ACCIDENT ATTRIBUTED TO HIS DEATH.
Hit gooseneck dump trailer attached to Dodge Ram 2500 truck. Hit trailer frame square below tailgate. Silverado was total loss. Airbags did not deploy, driver suffered injury to face on steering wheel. Front passenger suffered some bruising from seatbelt. Driver was hospitalized a week later with a seizure with no known medical cause and no history of seizures 50+ years.
I purchased the silverado 2014 in July 2018 dealer ship in Orangeburge SC. 3 months after driveing the truck i pulled to stop sign when pulled off the stearing wheel went left and my intentions was to go straight my luck was on my side that day. I finally fought the steering back straight and pulled over turned truck off then started back up and no probloms until later on started getting codes on the dash so i took to dealer ship closet one near me , they reboted the ECM and i told the service manger at that time i open the hood and showed him the wire that sometimes i go to start truck all it would do make a cliking noise open hood shake the big cable coming from the battery then truck would start, finaly summer arrives i start useing my air condition it finally went out took back too dealer they say needed new compressor i had warranty at the time replaced compressor after 2 week no A/C back 2nd time a/c issues they put die in compressor no leaks drive another 2 weeks same no a/c tack back to dealer then they tell me my waranty has run out and appears you have condinsor leaking refrigerant they wanted me to pay for i finally agreed to pay half and dealer pay half . Going back to about the second time i took the truck to the dealer when it was under warranty showed service manager cable that would cause truck not start until wiggled the wire. He told me that if that problom would have to change the ECM he said would cost alot of money when come 3rd time they refered to a dealership in Rockinham nc. so they could do a electrical codes diagnostic after my warranty had out when i asked why dont yall have the machine hear after you seen me at dealership 7 times after took truck ROCKINGJAM NC. DEALER checked codes erased few and few weeks later get into crash going arond a suv and cotton picker after starting go around suv turns left i tryed to turn steering wheel back over to my drive lane i had no stearing crashed into suv both total loss.
Side rail airbag deployed knock me out and total my vehicle.
The side impact airbags failed to deploy. I was ( T Boned) side impacted with such force to propel my my truck 90 degrees and into the ditch. I was wearing my seatbelt. The other driver was charged with the accident. I impacted the doorframe with my Lt. arm and chest, and my Left temple struck the window frame. The truck was totaled. As a result of the vehicular collision I suffered Pulmonary contusions, 3 broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, and omental lacerations. Had the side curtain airbags deployed my injuries would have been significantly reduced. This problem was noted in the accident report. Attached. I have not reported this to a dealer Geico has inspected the vehicle I reported to the the issue with the airbags . No warning lights or any other indication that the airbags were inoperable at any time in the trucks history. I am the first owner of this truck and it was well maintained . I was expected to get at least another 10 years service from the vehicle and maintained as so. I Have attached the accident report.
I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 40 MPH ON A DIRT ROAD WHEN I HIT A LITTLE BUMP AN DRIVER AN PASSENGER CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOY FOR NO REASON AT ALL, CAUSING MYSELF AN WIFE TO RUN OFF THE ROAD INTO AN EMBANKMENT. MY WIFE IS OK I SUFFER A LACERATION TO MY NOSE AN A SPRANG ANKLE. THIS HAD HAPPEN WILL DELIVERING FOOD AN WATER TO GRANDPARENTS ON THE RESERVATION, THEY HAVE NO RUNNING WATER. THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT FILED DUE TO COVID 19 AN UNAVAILABLE POLICE ON RESERVATION.
MENARDS ENTRANCE PARKING LOT, APPROACHING A LEFT TURN INTO THE PARKING LOT, APPLIED BRAKES AND SLID INTO THE CORNER POLE LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING, TRUCK WAS UNABLE TO STOP!, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF MY VEHICLE AND CAUSING PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO MY WIFE. BEFORE ACCIDENT HAPPENED I DID REPORT THE FAULTY BRAKING SYSTEM TO LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP 3X, STILL HAVING ISSUES, 2ND ACCIDENT IN A PARKING LOT TRUCK AGAIN WOULDN'T STOP! RUNNING INTO THE SIDE OF A CEMENT PARKING WALL, THIS IS WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN THE 4TH X AND THEY TELL THAT IT WAS FIXED! AND AGAIN WHILE DRIVING OUT OF THE DEALER SHIP SHOP DROVE ABOUT A MILE, COMING TO PARK THE TRUCK AGAIN WOULDN'T STOP HAD TO AVOID HITTING A ONCOMING CAR THAT WAS LEAVING THAT AREA. AFTER ALL THIS I CONTACTED GM HEADQUARTER AND THEY SENT A INSPECTOR OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, RECENTLY CONTACTED ME AND EXPLAIN THAT WELL THE TRUCK WAS IN AN ACCIDENT! AND THEY REPLACED THE VACUUM BRAKE WITH A NEW ONE! THE TRUCK IS OPERATING OKAY! ALREADY FRUSTRATED ASKED WHAT ABOUT THE DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK! AND TO MY WIFE, RESPONSE I WILL HAVE TO GET BACK TO YOU! DID GET BACK TO ME WELL WE CAN PAY FOR THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK DAMAGE BUT THAT'S IT, WHAT ABOUT MY WIFES NECK INJURY, NO REPLY, ASK TO GET HIM A ESTIMATE AND FAX. SO THAT'S WHERE IM AT WITH THIS, STILL WAITING, WITH MY WIFE STILL ENDURING PAIN AFTER THE 1ST ACCIDENT. NO SATISFACTION YET.
RECALL ON BRAKING SYSTEM, REPORTED TO GM DEALER, WAITED, DROVE VEHICLE WHILE STILL ON RECALL, DEALERSHIP QUOTED THAT IT WILL BE OKAY, ( TRAVEL TO MED APPOINTMENTS) AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, FINALLY GOT IT IN, (ITS FIXED), CONTINUED DRIVING IT, STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKING, THE PEDAL WAS JUMPING, OH! THAT'S NORMAL STATED THE TECHNICIAN, I CONTINUED DRIVING, I CALLED THE DEALER SHIP I BOUGHT THE TRUCK FROM, NEW IN 2015, EXPLAINED EXPLAIN TO THEM THE PROBLEM IM HAVING, (SAID WELL BRING IT TO THE DEALER SHIP NEAR YOU, DID THAT!) AGAIN NOWHERE, CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT, WELL BRING IT IN, TECH TOOK FOR A RIDE, THAT'S WHAT THEY NORMALLY DO, VIBRATE LIKE THAT , YAH. WELL FRUSTRATED AS I WAS WE CONTINUED TO DRIVE, TO MY MED APPOINTMENTS, WELL, COMING BACK STOP AT AN ESTABLISHMENT, AS WE WERE PULLING IN THE TRUCK WOULDN'T STOP!, AND I SLID RIGHT INTO A MENTAL POLE, DAMAGING THE ENTIRE FRONT OF OUR TRUCK, THE FORCE OF THE HIT LUNGED BOTH I AND MY WIFE FORWARD AT AN ABRUPT STOP! MY WIFE SUSTAIN A NECK AND BACK INJURY, MY LEFT SHOULDER, REPORT TO INS, AND PROPERTY OWNER, MY INS PAY OUT FOR THE DAMAGE. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER SHIP, WE'LL HAVE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.
TRUCK WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WAS REAR ENDED AND AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. DRIVER WAS INJURED AND JUST HAD SURGERY FOR NECK INJURY. ALSO HAD BACK INJECTIONS ALL DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT DECEMBER 24,2017

THE VEHICLE KEPT ON GOING STRAIGHT DOWN A 20 FEET EMBANKMENT. ALL THE FRONTAL CURTAINS AND AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE POLICE WAS PRESENT AND AN ACCIDENT REPORT NUMBER: T8C3138TZCPH WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE LOCAL HOSPITAL, DIAGNOSED AS MULTIPLE CUTS TO THE HEAD, BRUISED SHOULDER AND A HEAD CONCLUSION, TREATED AND RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION TWO DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V586000 (STEERING). MY TRUCK HAS BEEN MODIFIFED BY EITHER A POWERFUL ENTITY OR BY THE DEALERSHIP ITSELF AT THE DIRECTION OF A POWERFUL ENTITY. TRUCK HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS. I BOUGHT FROM SAME DEALERSHIP OUT OF SHOW ROOM AND TRUSTED THEM. AFTER ACCIDENT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHY. SEE BURN MARKS AROUND EDGES OF AIRBAGS ALONG WITH CONDUCTIVE STRING SEW INTO THEM. ALSO NOTICED EXTRA CONDUCTORS ADDED ALONG WITH EXTRA INSULATOR LAYER. CIGARETTE OUTLETS ALL MANIPULATED AFTER REPLACED WITH HIGHER OUTPUT PLUGS. ALSO FOUND AIR BAG SENSORS WHICH ARE DISCONTINUTED AS THEY BELONG TO TRUCKS FROM 2007-2009. FRAME IS FOR A 1TON TRUCK WHICH HAS BEENGREASED FRONT TO BACK. AXELS ARE CLEARLY OLDER AND ARE LABELED FOR A CK2500 (1 TOM) MODEL DRIVE SHAFT AND MANY OTHER COMPONENTS HAVE MARKINGS THROUGHOUT TO ESTABLISH PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE TO GUIDE SHORT OF ELECTRICITY TO DRIVER TO SHOCK ME. MODLES MODFIFIED TO GAIN ACCESS TO TRUCK. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. YOU GUYS HAVE TO SEE THIS TRUCK IN PERSON. WAY TOO UCH TO LIST. DEALERSHIP HAD IT LONG TIME TO DO REPAIRS. WHEN TAKEN BACK TO THEM TO FIGURE OUT HWY THE LOUD SHAKES, THE DEALERSHP CERTIFIED SHOP TECH STATED EVERYTHING IS PERFECTL NORMAL. THAT WA S A LIE.EEWWDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUEFU

THE CONSUMER HAD A PUNCTURED AND COLLAPSED LUNG, SEVEN BROKEN VERTEBRAE, THREE BROKEN RIBS, A BROKEN STERNUM, A CONCUSSION, AS WELL AS SPINAL INJURIES THAT RESULTED IN A PERMANENT SPINAL DEFORMITY CALLED KYPHOSIS. CAUSING CHEST PAIN AND WHIPLASH. ON A TWO LANE RURAL COUNTRY ROAD. POLICE REPORT 18GV061981 SOUTH CAROLINA. STATE FARM INSURANCE CLAIM NUMBER 403-507 Z76. I WAS RAN OFF THE ROAD BY A VEHICLE IN MY LANE.
TAKATA RECALL-I WAS IN A WRECK 12-24-2017 AND I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. THE BED OF MY TRUCK WAS HIT SO HARD BY A DISTRACTED DRIVER WHILE I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THAT IT TWISTED UP AND HIT THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AND MY SEATBELT NEVER LOCKED UP. I AM SEVERELY INJURED AND AM STILL SEEKING TREATMENT FOR MY INJURIES. IT WAS OVER $11,000 IN DAMAGES. THE TRUCK NOW DOWN SHIFTS AND IT SOUNDS LIKIE THE BOTTOM IS DROPPING OUT. IT ALSO SHAKES WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED.

AFTER I CAME TOO I LOOKED DOWN AND NOTICED MY AIRBAG HAD NOT CAME OUT ON THE STEERING WHEEL JUST ON THE SIDES. SO I WAS THINKING MAYBE MY TRUCK WAS NOT HURT THAT BAD. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTOS THAT I WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND TO PAY THIS MUCH MONEY FOR A VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SAVE YOUR LIFE DOES NOT WORK MAKES ME REALLY UPSET EVEN THOUGH I REALLY LOVED MY TRUCK. PRIOR TO RECEIPT OF THE RECALL, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER AND DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
SUBJECT VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING SOUTH AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE LEFT LANE AT AN INTERSECTION OF TWO 4 LANE HIGHWAYS. THERE WAS A SEMI TRUCK STOPPED BESIDE IT IN THE RIGHT LANE THAT PROCEEDED TO GO AND TURN RIGHT ON THE RED LIGHT. WHEN THE SEMI TRUCK STARTED MOVING, DRIVER OF SUBJECT VEHICLE THOUGHT THE LIGHT HAD CHANGED AND PROCEEDED SOUTH AND STRUCK THE DRIVER SIDE OF ANOTHER TRUCK THAT WAS TRAVELING EAST THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. DRIVER SUFFERED HEAD INJURY RESULTING IN PARALYSIS. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. VIN INDICATES VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO RECALL #16V651 (AIRBAG SENSOR SOFTWARE DEFECT). OWNER SAYS NO NOTICE HAS BEEN RECEIVED.

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK, NECK, LEG, ARM, AND HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V651000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FULL FRONTAL COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THE OTHER VEHICLE ENTERED THE ROADWAY. THE 2015 SUFFERED EXTENSIVE FRONT DAMAGE AND WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. GM WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE NONE DEPLOYMENT. GM SENT A REPRESENTATIVE TO INVESTIGATE THE NONE DEPLOYMENT. AFTER THE INVESTIGATION GM NOTIFIED ME THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM FUNCTIONED PROPERLY AND THAT THERE WASN'T ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING. I KEPT ALL CORRESPONDENCE FROM GM BECAUSE I FELT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM. THIS VEHICLE WAS LISTED IN A RECENT RECALL FROM GM CONCERNING AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING.
