I HAD A MINOR COLLISION WHERE A CAR BACKED INTO ME AS I WAS DRIVING FORWARD AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED. MINOR BODY DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS. HOWEVER, ALL OF MY FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. INSURANCE, THE ESTIMATOR, EVERYONE, IS SHOCKED THEY ALL DEPLOYED, OR THAT ANY DEPLOYED CONSIDERING HOW MINOR THE COLLISION WAS. MY VAN, UNBEKNOWNST TO ME, HAD A KNEE AIRBAG. THE KNEE AIR BAG EXPLODED AGAINST MY SHINS, CAUSING EXTENSIVE BRUISING, CUTS, AND GOUGES WHERE THE COVER AND CASING SHOT OUT ONTO MY LEGS LIKE SHRAPNEL. IT FELT LIKE A BOMB OF SHARP GLASS WENT OFF AGAINST MY SHINS AND KNEES, THERE WAS BLOOD ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE VAN WAS PULLED IN TO A DRIVEWAY WITH A SLIGHT TILT, PUT IN PARK, WITH THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION, IN PARK. THE PRIMARY DRIVER ALMOST ALWAYS USES THE PARKING BRAKE, AND BELIEVES IT WAS ON AT THIS TIME. THE SLIDING DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED, SOMETHING TAKEN OUT, AND CLOSED. AT THAT POINT IN TIME, THE VAN STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD, TO THE POINT WHERE IT ACTUALLY IMPACTED THE HOUSE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN REPRODUCIBLE. TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY PERFORMED BASIC TESTING, COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, BUT WILL NOT STATE THAT THE CAR IS SAFE AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

I am a paraplegic. I drive an adapted van with hand controls that include a Sure-Grip A600 spinner knob. This is equipment purchased from and installed by my mobility vehicle dealer, and is intended to allow operating the steering wheel with one hand so that the other can operate the throttle and brake, as well as other controls. Today while driving and making a hard turn, the plastic knob pulled off the shaft of the mount, causing me to lose control of the van and have a serious accident. This appears to be a clear case of defective product design as the plastic knob was merely pressed onto the shaft. The shaft and mount for it did not shift or move, but the knob pulled off. There were no features on the shaft to aid in retaining the knob beyond a friction fit.

THIS VAN HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEST 8 TIMES SINCE NEW. THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS REALLY BAD. FROM STOP LIGHTS AND IN SLOW MOVING AREAS DRIVING LESS THEN 10MPH IT WILL LOSE ALMOST ALL THROTTLE CONTROL. IT WILL EITHER BE FULL THROTTLE OR NONE. WHEN PASSING SOMETIMES NOTHING WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. I'VE HAD TIMES IN TOWN THAT IT WILL JUST STICK ON FULL THROTTLE AS WELL. ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT ROLLING BACKWARDS OUT OF CONTROL WHEN IN DRIVE WE HAVE TO ALL WAYS HAVE OUR FOOT ON THE BREAKS. THE VAN ONCE ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN A HILL WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS IN IT. MY INSURANCE PAID FOR THE DAMAGE. MY WIFE HAD IT IN DRIVE AND PRESS THE GAS TO GO UP THE HILL AND THE VAN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE IT JUST ROLLED BACKWARDS AND DAMAGED THE VAN. SHE HAD THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND IT DID NOTHING. I GOT THE VAN BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TELL ME IT'S NORMAL AND NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. IT STILL A PROBLEM AND I'M STUCK WITH IT.

MY VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE ENTIRE SIDE OF THE VAN WAS AFFECTED, FROM THE WHEELS TO THE BUMPERS. I FEEL THE VEHICLE THAT STRUCK MY VAN WAS DOING AT LEAST 20 MPH AT THE TIME OF IMPACT AND THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. IN MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT IMPACTS FROM 8 TO 18 MPH SHOULD CAUSE THESE SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING FOR MYSELF AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS WITH THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES. CHRYSLER HAD AN "INDEPENDENT" INVESTIGATOR INSPECT THE VAN BEFORE ANY REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. I WAS NOT ASKED TO BE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION OR GIVEN A COPY OF THE REPORT. I WILL BE ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT THE "INDEPENDENT" INVESTIGATOR FOR A COPY OF THE REPORT BUT DON'T FEEL THAT I WILL HAVE MUCH LUCK. THERE WERE FOUR CHILDREN IN THE VAN ALONG WITH MY SPOUSE WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AND THANKFULLY NO CRITICAL INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE AIR BAGS WERE SUPPOSED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT AT.

When drive over 60mph I smell burn from front hood. I took to Dodge dealership. They said oil leaking so paid $950 , 3 weeks later car broke down like can't go over 30mph, Aqcell won't go up , I took to dealership again , he said transmission I paid $4600( October) it used transmission. After change transmission drive was uncomfortable, not smoothly like before. I took dealership he said It because differen transmission, so need takes a while to get use to it. (Idk it true or not) And engine light on over 7 times and still burning smell if drive over 60mph. Dealership kepts 3 days but they said car is fine. Im like how heck fine? If I drive 60mph now I can smell burn . Feel very uncomfortable to drive i have 3 kids always with me but can't sell car with this conditions . Any advice appreciate

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. While the contact's husband was driving 15 MPH, the front passenger's side headrest detached from the base and struck the contact in the back of the head extremely hard. The air bag had not deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a detached headrest air bag. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The contact sustained a neck injury; however, no medical attention was needed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.

The active head restraint deployed on it's own. I was stopped at a light and the headrest slammed into the back of my head. I was alone in the vehicle, and nothing struck the seat or my vehicle. Upon inspection, the plastic clips that hold the metal bar in place have broken. It caused a headache and neck pain, as it jarred me unexpectedly. This affected my safety, and had I been moving at the time it could have caused an accident, putting others at risk as well. I called the dealer I purchased the vehicle from and was quoted over $600 for the part (replacement headrest) and labor, but have not taken it in for them to inspect it. There were no claims filed, so no inspections have occurred. There were no warnings, neither lights or messages, or any other problems with any part of the driver's seat. It just exploded.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

MY 15 YR OLD SON HAD NECK PAIN FROM THE UNEXPECTED EXPULSION FORWARD WHEN HIS HEADREST RANDOMLY DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON...HIS PAIN CONTINUED AS HE BEGAN TO GET MORE STIFF SO HE WAS SCHEDULED , SEEN AND ADJUSTED AT THE CHIROPRACTOR. HE HAD A FEW APPOINTMENTS TO GET THE PAIN TO STOP. I CALLED GRAVEN CHRYSLER OF LEBANON MO WHERE I PURCHASED THE VAN TO GET IT REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT DUE TO NO RECALL YET!. THE VAN HAS APPROX. 56,000 MILES AND I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH BUMPER TO BUMPER. I WAS THEN TOLD BOTH HEADRESTS WOULD BE REPLACED UBDER THE WARRANTY YET THAT WAS OVER 6 MONTHS AGO. I WAS STILL TOLD TODAY THEY CANNOT GET NEW PARTS IN. MAYBE NEXT MONTH? I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE! HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING -IT IS LIKELY I'D HAVE WRECKED AND KILLED MANY PEOPLE! !!THIS IS A MAJOR, DANGEROUS, DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING! IT IS AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS CONDITION TO DRIVE WITH DEFECTIVE HEADRESTS! MY SON WAS INJURED, I 'VE FEARED DRIVING IT FOR 6 MONTHS AND AFTER 6 MONTHS STILL NOTHING HAS CHANGED OR BEEN FIXED,! I HAVE NOW BEEN TRYING TO GET DODGE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT BOTH HEADRESTS ONCE AGAIN, AND I AM NOT BEING CONTACTED BACK.
