The gas pedal got stuck while I was driving. I couldn't stop it and lost control. It caused a horrific car accident. 10 people were involved and I'm currently fighting the case in court to prove I was not reckless. It has been inspected by my insurance but unfortunately it was only for damages and not for mechanical issues regarding the gas pedal.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A LOW SPEED FRONTAL COLLISION WITH MY 2009 FORD F150 PICK UP. THE COLLISION WAS OFF CENTER LEFT WITH ANOTHER FORD F150 (1993-1994 MODEL). THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLES WAS LESS THAN 40 MPH AS THE COLLISION HAPPENED ON A HILLY AND TWISTING ROAD. MY VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE ON IMPACT AND WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN JUST OVER A MINUTE. MY DRIVERS DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND I HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MY WIFE AND I WERE NOT INJURED AS THE AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS WORKED PROPERLY. WE NEVER MADE CONTACT WITH THE AIR BAGS AND SUSTAINED NO SEAT BELT BRUISING OR OTHER INJURIES. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE AT A STANDSTILL, THE CONTACT WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AT MODERATE SPEEDS. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT HAVE A LOW SENSING MECHANISM CAUSING HIM TO JOLT FORWARD AND THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENED TOO TIGHTLY ON HIM RESULTING IN MICRO TEARS OF HIS INTESTINES. THE CONTACT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION THAT LEAD TO SURGERY AND THE REMOVAL OF PORTIONS OF HIS INTESTINES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE RESIDENCE OF THE CONTACT WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FRAME CRACK WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.

AS I WAS BACKING THE TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE MY DRIVEWAY HAS AN DECLINE, THE TRUCK TOOK OFF. IN OTHER WORDS UNINTENDED ACCERLATION. THE ENGINE RPMS WENT VERY HIGH AND THE TRUCK WENT VERY FAST IN REVERSE HITTING MY GARAGE WALL AND MY FATHER WHO UNFORTUNATELY WAS IN THE WAY. ONCE THE TRUCK TOOK OFF I DESPERATELY TRIED PUSHING ON THE BRAKES AND SLAMMING THE TRUCK INTO PARK BUT THE TRUCK DIDN'T STOP UNTIL IT HIT THE GARAGE WALL. MY FATHER SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG BUT WAS INCHES AWAY FROM BEING KILLED. THE TIRE TRACKS ON THE GARAGE FLOOR SHOWED DRAG MARKS AS IF THE FRONT WHEELS HAD LOCKED UP AS THE BACK WHEELS SPED UP. THIS WAS A HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO WHY FORD VEHICLES ARE DOING THIS. THERE IS NO WAY MY FOOT WAS ON THE ACCELERATION, ALTHOUGH THIS IS WHAT THE MANUFACTURE IS GOING TO CLAIM.

DROPPED OFF VEHICLE WITH FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISER AND PROCEEDED TO WAITING AREA. VEHICLE HAD A STEADY YELLOW ENGINE LIGHT INDICATING SERVICE IS REQUIRED. FIVE MINUTES LATER, LOUD ENGINE RACING NOISE, TIRES SQUEALING AND CRASH IMPACT SOUND FROM SERVICE BAY AREA. KNOWING IT WAS MY TRUCK, I WENT OUT TO THE SERVICE BAY TO SEE IT SLAMMED THROUGH THE FAR STONE WALL, ABOUT 75 FEET FROM THE SERVICE DESK. HYDRAULIC FLUID WAS ALL OVER THE FLOOR, OUTSIDE AND INSIDE OF THE TRUCK. SERVICE ADVISER WAS STUNNED AND CRAWLED OUT OF VEHICLE CLAIMING IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND HE COULD NOT PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK AS THE ENGINE RACED AT FULL RPM. SERVICE ADVISER WAS SENT TO HOSPITAL. FORD SERVICE MANAGER WAS CONCERNED AND AGREED TO CHECK ENGINE CODES, HE TALKED LIKE HE'D SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. ALL SERVICE ENGINEERS WERE CONCERNED ABOUT SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION THEY ALL WITNESSED AS THE TRUCK MIRACULOUSLY BARRELED THROUGH THE SERVICE BAYS WITHOUT HITTING ANY OF THE WORKERS. LATER IN THE DAY, I RETURNED TO CHECK STATUS AND EVERYONE AT DEALERSHIP CHANGED THEIR STORY. THEY WILL NOT TELL ME WHY THE TRUCK ACCELERATED LIKE IT DID, BUT WILL NOT ADMIT THERE WAS HUMAN ERROR EITHER. *TR

WE ARE THE OWNERS OF A 2009 FORD F-150. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WE RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE DOOR AND THAT WE NEEDED TO TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIRS. WE FOLLOWED PROCEDURE AND TOOK OUR TRUCK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP & THE RECALL ISSUE WAS FIXED (OR SO WE THOUGHT) AND WE NEVER GAVE IT A SECOND THOUGHT. WELL, FAST FORWARD TO A LITTLE OVER 1 MONTH AGO ( APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS AFTER THE 'RECALL' ISSUE WAS FIXED ), OUR TRUCK WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. NOT A MAJOR ACCIDENT, BUT A FENDER BENDER. WHEN THE OTHER VEHICLE HIT OUR TRUCK, THE SIDE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED/ UNLATCHED. THE ORIGINAL RECALL STATED IT WOULD/ COULD UNLATCH DURING A SIDE IMPACT, BUT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE FIXED THAT. IN OUR MINDS THAT PROBLEM WAS FIXED & WE HAD PEACE OF MIND. WELL OUR TRUCK DID NOT RECEIVE A SIDE IMPACT, BUT A REAR END IMPACT, AND THE DOOR ISSUE APPARENTLY WAS NOT FIXED AT ALL. THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED/ UNLATCHED AND MIND YOU, THIS WAS A FAIRLY MINOR ACCIDENT. ONLY PROPERTY DAMAGE, NO BODILY INJURIES. I AM NOW SCARED FOR OUR SAFETY AS I DON'T FEEL MY FAMILY IS SAFE IN OUR TRUCK SHOULD ANOTHER ACCIDENT OCCUR, ESPECIALLY A BIGGER IMPACT ACCIDENT, & HAVING THE DOOR UNLATCH LIKE THAT INSTEAD OF PROPERLY PROTECTING THOSE INSIDE.
