SUSPENSION

The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by Rocky Ridge and endorsed by Ford Motor Company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle’s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford Certified Collision Center and my insurance company USAA. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. Images were provided to Ford Motor Company and inspected by Ford Collision Center Manager. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other visible symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the modifications during a repair process. Ford Positon Statements and On Target Tech Bulitens prohibit these types of modifications and were violated, then conceled so that the consumer would not be able to see them unless in an accident. Ford is citing that the time frame exceeds 24 months so there is nothing that they are willing to do about it. This is a failure to warn and product defect that impacts safety.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

Crash

On Dec 27, 2022 I was involved in a collision where my F150 would not come to a complete stop at an intersection /red light. I approached the vehicles at the light breaking to slow down but the truck drive gear did not disengage, and I struck the vehicle in front of me at about 2-3mph and then proceeded to push the vehicle into the car in front of them all while I was fully applying the break (foot of the gas pedal). It was not until I put the truck in neutral and turned it off that it stopped pushing the other vehicles. I did not receive any warnings or notification lights on my truck prior or during the impact/pushing. It as if the F150 didn't see the vehicle in front of it and the auto drive system engaged as if it had a mind of its own. I have spoken to Ford Corp regarding the issue and they have advised me to have the vehicle inspected but my local Ford dealers are refusing to run a diagnosis on the vehicle prior to having it repaired thus causing an impasse all while I'm very nervous driving this truck out of fear of it happening again. 01/09/2023-Manufacturer Safety recall issued NHTSA #22V842 Recall #22S71 WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT Status: Remedy Available

I bought a used Ford f-150 from Toyota used care dealership on [XXX]. On [XXX] while vehicle was being driven on [XXX], north of Santa Clarita, on the way down to San Diego. I was in the backseat, my friend who was the driver notified me. That we had to pull over and check because he was noticing smoke, then we pulled over and the truck was leaking a fluid that was on fire for about 20 minutes. We had exited the vehicle, called 911, the fire then stopped after about 20 minutes. The fire department came and then put out a small fire within the truck. We then had to wait on the side of the rode for 5 hours waiting for a tow truck to pull the truck. I got the truck towed to a ford service center because the truck still had new vehicle manufacturer warranty with Ford. The truck was given full warranty and Ford covered the damages and fixed the vehicle giving it the green light in there service report. I then waited until March 4th 2025 to receive my truck back. On [XXX], the truck was being driven down southband the [XXX], on the [XXX], again due to smoke and also hearing a loud banging, my friends had to pull over and the truck is going to be towed to the service center which it was first fixed.
