1994 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE ACCIDENT AND REQUEST INFORMATION ON VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONS, DEFECTS AND MECHANICAL FAILURES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, IN WHICH HE WAS INJURED AND HIS COUSIN WAS KILLED. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE ACCIDENT WAS A RESULT OF THE MALFUNCTION, REGARDING A POTENTIAL DEFECT, IN WHICH CHRYSLER PREVIOUSLY REFUSED TO RECALL THE VEHICLES FOR. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE LOCKED UP, AND WENT SOUTHBOUND AND ENDED UP IN THE WOODS. THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. ALSO, THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND DRIVER (WHO WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT) SUSTAINED A FRACTURE TO THE STERNUM WITH CONSIDERABLE PAIN AFTER. INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE REVEALED THAT THE LEFT AIR BAG SENSOR WAS BROKEN AS A RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT, BUT AIR BAG STILL DID NOT DEPLOY. AT NO TIME DID THE AIR BAG INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE DEFECT IN THE SYSTEM. *TR

HOWEVER, AFTER I WAS OUT OF THE CAR, IT BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS, DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. I TRIED TO GET BACK IN TO REACH THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR DOOR BEGAN DRAGGING ME DOWN THE DRIVEWAY WITH IT. I COULDN'T STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING AND IT ROLLED BACK INTO MY NEIGHBOR'S MAILBOX AND BROKE IT OFF. IT DENTED MY CAR BADLY AND THE INCIDENT TORE OFF MY TOE NAIL AND INJURED MY FOOT.*AK

MY WIFE WAS PUTTING THE CAR INTO REVERSE WHEN IT, ON ITS OWN, LUNGED BACKWARDS AT MAXIMUM ACCELERATION, KNICKED MY SON WHO JUMPED OUT OF THE WAY, KNICKED ANOTHER CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY, AND SMASHED ACCELERATING BACKWARDS INTO A TREE, TOTALING THE CAR IN THE PROCESS. I KNOW YOU ARE INVESTIGATING 1995-1999 GRAND CHEROKEES FOR THIS DEFECT, BUT YOU NEED TO INCLUDE 1994 MODEL YEAR AS WELL. THERE ARE AT LEAST 23 SIMILAR INCIDENTS FOR 94 JEEPS ON YOUR WEBSITE. I HAVE PRINTED THEM ALL OUT. WE HAD THE CAR INSPECTED BY CHRYSLER AT THE TIME AND THEY CLAIMED DRIVER ERROR. WHAT A TOTAL COVER-UP, AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS OUR FAULT!!*AK
