THE INDIVIDUALS IN THE VEHICLE WERE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, WHICH THEY WOULD HAVE SURVIVED, IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL TANK.
I HAVE CONTACTED YOUR OFFICE BEFORE FOLLOWING THE JAN. 24, 2014 CRASH THAT TOOK MY WIFE'S LIFE, ON THE VEHICLE INDICATED, IT WAS EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN TIRES NOTED DURING THE PERIOD BEFORE THE RECALL THIS YEAR. I HAD CONTACTED YOU EARLIER ABOUT THE AIR BAGS ON A 1997 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT FAILED TO DEPLOY IN THIS CRASH. COULD YOU PLEASE GET BACK TO ME TO DISCUSS THIS LATEST DEVELOPMENT IN WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE DEATH OF MY WIFE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 1997 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WAS CRASHED INTO FROM THE REAR AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY CAUGHT FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, STRUCTURE).THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS IT TAKES 5-10 SECONDS FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO KICK IN. THEN IT BUCKS INTO GEAR. WHEN SITTING IDLE, THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT WILL STALL. OUR MECHANIC TOLD US THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT THIS TIME, OUR GRAND CHEROKEE IS DEAD. WE CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS IS THE SECOND GRAND CHEROKEE WE HAVE OWNED AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. WE GOT RID OF OUR '95 GRAND CHEROKEE BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION KEPT HESITATING, THE DEALER COULD NEVER SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG, OF COURSE. WE KNEW THIS CAR WAS A LEMON AND GOT THE DEALER TO GET US INTO A BRAND NEW GRAND CHEROKEE (1997). NOW 5 1/2 YEARS LATER THIS CAR'S TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED. JEEP NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND GET THESE CARS FIXED! *LA
JEEP IN QUESTION, HIT BLACK ICE AND FLIPPED OVER GUARDRAIL .NEITHER OF AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, FRONT BUMPER TORE OFF. JEEP WAS TURNED OFF AT COMPLETION OF ROLLOVER, AND STILL BROKE INTO FLAMES. *AK
THE SEATS COLLAPSED IN A 45MPH REAR END CRASH THE FRAMES WERE COMPLETELY SNAPPED MY DAD AND I FLEW IN THE BACK SEAT I WAS HANGING OVER THE BACK SEAT AND I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON SO DID MY DAD. I WAS THE DRIVER AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO REACH THE PEDALS TO STOP THE JEEP AFTER THE CRASH. *TR

THE CONTACT'S FUEL TANK RUPTURED FROM THE IMPACT AND THE FUEL SPILLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER BOTH SUSTAINED CONCUSSIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND THE OTHER DRIVER SUFFERED A BROKEN ARM. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 198,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH HE REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED, AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CONSEQUENTLY HE SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES TO HIS NECK, CHEST AND LEGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS PLACE OF RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO RECALL# 97V080000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE) IN 1997. A TECHNICIAN FROM THE DEALER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DETERMINING THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 140000.
1. CAME OUT OF GEAR WHEN IN PARK AND CRASHED SUSTAINING 5000.00 DOLLARS IN DAMAGE. HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM DAIMLER-CHRYSLER IN 2002,HOWEVER IT WAS NOT DATED STATING THE CAR COULD DO THIS. NO RECALLS WERE PRESENT AT THE TIME. THEY DENIED ANY PROBLEM WHEN CAR CRASHED. CALLED AN ATTORNEY WHO WAS A RELATIVE THAT TOLD WITHOUT A DOUBT (100%) THE CAR WOULD DO THIS. HE THEN CALLED ME BACK AND STATED HE COULD NOT REPRESENT ME BECAUSE HE REPRESENTED DAIMLER-CHRYSLER. HE WAS HIRED BY CHRYSLER AFTER HE BOUGHT A VIPER FROM THEM THAT WAS A LEMON AND HE SHOVED IT YOU KNOW WHERE AND WON. THEY REALIZED WHAT AN OUTSTANDING ATTORNEY HE WAS THEN HIRED HIM. TALK ABOUT FAMILY ETHICS. THEY FINALLY INSTALLED THE SECONDARY DETENT SYSTEM IN 12/2008. I WAS TOLD IT WAS REPAIRED. 2 THE CAR IS STALLING AT HIGH SPEEDS,DURING U TURNS, WHILE AT STOP SIGNS. IT TO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. JEEP KEEPS TELLING ME THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING ON DIAGNOSTICS. I WAS OUT OF TOWN 250 MILES FROM HOME AND THEY WANT ME TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE BACK TO THE. THEY HAVE BEEN RUDE,EVASIVE AND BLAMING ME. AFTER 500.00 THERE DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED NOTHING. IT HAS BEEN TO 5 OTHER MECHANICS AND KNOW ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE A 1997 GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED THAT IS LOADED THAT IS DANGEROUS AND WORTH NOTHING. 3 IF THEY INSIST ON ARBITRATION AND A CHANCE TO FIX IT YOU WILL LOSE. IT IS WORTH YOUR MONEY TO HIRE A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. *TR
CONSUMER COMPLAINT REGARDING UN-REPAIRED RECALL WORK TO A 1997 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, THAT RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING SHE PLACED IT IN PARK, STEPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT LURCHED BACKWARDS INTO THE NEIGHBORS LANDSCAPE. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS NEVER INFORMED OF ANY RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, POSSIBLY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED. *JB

WHILE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH VEHICLE VEERED OFF TO THE LEFT. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE BACK INTO TRAFFIC, STRIKING A GUARD RAIL AND ROLLING OVER SEVERAL TIMES. *AK *SC *JB
AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE CONSUMER WALKED AWAY. THEN, TURNED AROUND AND NOTICED THAT VEHICLE WAS ROLLING . VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, CROSSED A STREET AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. CONSUMER TRIED TO STOP IT, BUT WAS SLIGHTLY INJURED DURING THE INCIDENT. *AK
I WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE CAR ACCIDENT IN WHICH I WAS REAR-ENDED. I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN I WAS HIT BY A TUNDRA AT 45-50 MPH. MY 1997 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS TOTALED AND MY SEAT (DRIVER'S SEAT) BROKE BACKWARDS ON IMPACT, WHICH RESULTED IN SEVERE BACK, NECK AND KNEE PAIN (DUE THE SEAT BACK BREAKING MY RIGHT KNEE HIT THE AREA UNDERNEATH THE STEERING WHEEL -SURGERY IS STILL PENDING; I AM ATTENDING PHYSICAL REHABILITATION 3X PER WEEK). *LA..UPDATED 10/30/13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE ALSO BEGAN LEAKING GAS. I WAS DRIVING 45MPH WHEN THIS VEHICLE ENTERED THE ROAD WITHOUT LOOKING THE TRAFFIC AND I HIT HER ON THE BACK WITH MY 1997 JEEP. THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT DIDN'T LOCK, CAUSING MY DAUGHTER GOING FORWARD AND INJURING HER NECK; PLUS BOTH AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK

WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND WITHOUT WARNING, VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT TO DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES, VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK CONSUMER AND PASSENGER OF THE VEHICLE BOTH SUFFERED BACK AND NECK INJURIES. BOTH ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE PHYSICAL THERAPY. *JG
VEHICLE WAS IN A IDLING POSITION OF PARK AND SLIPPED INTO REVERSE, SLAMMING INTO MULTIPLE VEHICLES. VEHICLE WAS AT DEALERSHIP BEING SERVICED; CONSUMER WAS OUTSIDE VEHICLE, AND SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS OPERATING VEHICLE AT THE TIME. *AK *YH
VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING, WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED 55 MPH THE STEERING COLUM RELEASED AND SPUN FREELY. THE OWNER HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE AND HIT A TELEPHONE POLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE CENTER MANY TIMES WITH STEERING AND FRONT END PROBLEMS AND ALL VISITS HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED . THESE REPAIRS HAVE ALL BEEN DONE AT TOWN AND COUNTRY GATES ARE THEY RESPONSIBLE OR IS THE MANUFACTURER
