LESTER GLENN DEALERSHIP, TOMS RIVER, NJ DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS RECALL!

I hit a deer at 65 mph, causing significant damage to my vehicle, $7,300+ to the front end. I have a safety beacon that detected the accident through my insurance, that detected the severity of the impact, resulting in an immediate call for safety to check on me. My airbags did not deploy, but there was a nasty aroma of sulfur during the impact. My minor children were secured safely in the vehicle, as well as myself. I, the driver of the car hit my head very hard on the steering wheel and window during impact, causing whiplash- neck pain, and reoccurring migraines still to this day 3-21-2026. Although I didn't receive medical attention it has been made known that I hit my head. This would've been avoided had my airbags deployed. I assume there may have been a malfunction and had this been a more serious incident, not only would my life be at stake, but most importantly my children. This is unacceptable for safety purposes.

This 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee was hit in the left front by a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. It also spun and was impacted on the left rear as well. All airbags but the driver’s side curtain airbag deployed. The driver hit their head on the seat belt pillar on the driver’s side. I have contacted Jeep but they have not responded to me in over a week. Injury to the driver’s head would have been less traumatic if this airbag had deployed.

I was involved in a car crash accident on the freeway, I was hit by a Ford Raptor truck from the back (left side) and pushed against the median barrier (center division) bounced back and spun twice and while spinning I hit another vehicle. Through all this I had three impacts, but when I hit the center divider I bumped my head on the left side and while spinning I heard the sound of gas (and felt air also coming into the car on the side of my head) but the side airbags never deployed. I suffered a head concussion and neck injury due to whiplash and bumping my head. I called the Jeep Company and claimed about the side/curtains airbags not deploying, they said they will send someone to check the car and investigate, they also made me sign the order authorizing them to check the car and after doing the investigation they sent me a letter with a vague explanation and no copy of the report that supports it. This needs further investigation, Jeep is not being cleared about this.

I was in a motor vehicle accident on 9/27/23 and my driver side seat belt had a retractor failure allowing me to be thrown forward and hit my chest on the steering wheel, causing chest contusion, bruising and pain. The cause of the accident was due to another vehicle losing control and hitting me head on.

IT WAS PARKED IN THE NERO ELLIE, I WAS IN A HURRY AND COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE IN PARK SO I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL, WENT AROUND BACK OPEN THE REAR GATE DOOR, THEN CLOSED IT, THEN AS I WENT TO GET BACK INTO THE JEEP AND OPEN THE DOOR TOUCHED THE STEERING WHEEL THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MOVE AND I FELL TO THE GROUND PINNED BETWEEN A GARAGE AND THE DOOR. AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD MOVED BY ME, RUNNING OVER MY RIGHT SHOE, IT HIT A BUILDING, AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO SWING MY RIGHT LEG INTO THE COMPARTMENT AND PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND TO MY AMAZEMENT THE SHIFTER LEVER WAS IN DRIVE. NORMALLY ON THIS VEHICLE IF YOU PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND GET OUT, YOU MUST PRESS THE BREAK AND HIT START TO SHIFT IT INTO GEAR. I CAME WITHIN ABOUT ONE SECOND OF DYING BY BEING CRUSHED BETWEEN THE GARAGE IN THE WHEELS. AT 64 I AM SERIOUSLY HURTING TONIGHT. IN READING ON THE WEB I SEE I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS OCCURRENCE, PLEASE DO SOMETHING IN THE WAY OF A RECALL AS I WOULD HATE TO SEE ANYONE HURT LIKE I WAS. THANK YOU.

THE DRIVER STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN THE DRIVE POSITION AND COULD NOT BE SWITCHED TO THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE, BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE FORCEFULLY. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND LEAKED A CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE ONTO THE DRIVER'S CLOTHING, WHICH CONTACTED THE ABDOMEN AREA AND CAUSED A SEVERE BURNING SENSATION TO THE SKIN. THE CONTACT ALSO SUSTAINED BRUISING TO THE RIGHT BREAST FROM THE SEAT BELT WEBBING. IN ADDITION, THE ENTIRE ABDOMEN AREA BECAME SWOLLEN AND THE RIGHT LOWER SIDE WAS MORE SEVERELY SWOLLEN. THE CONTACT'S LEFT WRIST WAS BROKEN AND THE LEFT KNEE WAS SWOLLEN AND BRUISED. THE CONTACT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND EXPRESSED CONCERN OF THE POTENTIAL HEALTH HAZARD OF BREATHING THE CHEMICALS EMITTED FROM THE AIR BAGS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,200. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, he smelled smoke emanating from the rear passenger seat. After a visual inspection, he observed a fire. The local fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A police and fire report was filed, but no injuries were reported. The contact stated he sustained a nondescript fire-related injury to his right leg but did not seek medical attention. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined an electrical software system wiring fault. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I was stuck in traffic as a result of a road being closed while they cleared another incident. Creeping along, the Jeep with it's engine pause shutting down until I removed my foot off the gas and then engaging so I could move forward a foot or two. Keeping in mind this feature has been throwing errors and I've taken it to the shop twice in the last 6 months with no results, and another appointment scheduled within a few days of the accident. Car in front of me moved forward, I took my foot off the gas, and the self start struggled, and then burst into life at a full throttle. I stomped on my break and tried to steer away, but nicked the corner of the car in front of me, and tangled with their bike rack. But slowed enough there were no air bags deployed. But still, this has become MY fault because of some faulty feature in a car and I get to pay an increase in premiums despite 25 years of no accidents. Is it going to take people getting hurt before this feature can be fixed or at least disabled as a default?

I'm not sure what components malfunctioned but my vehicle is in a body shop currently getting work done from the accident I was recently in. The safety of my cousin and I was put into risk when I was driving on the highway and I hydroplaned on the highway and did a 180 degree turn but luckily no one hit me and I didn't hit anyone else. I slammed on the concrete median which is what stopped my vehicle on the highway leaving my vehicle with 9 thousand in damages. I filed an insurance claim and is now getting fixed like I mentioned. Prior to the accident I had noticed the car shifting to the left and dramatically declining acceleration and a loud pop by the front driver tire. That is the best way to describe what the car does. So on the day of the incident I believe the car did what I just explained and it caused me to hydroplane and I'm in fear it is going to happen again. I have taken it to another shop after the accident because my vehicle would not start and a different shop said they heard the noise but could not figure out what it was. When I get my vehicle back I planned on taking it to a recall center but I decided to make this report first. There were no warning lights before during or after the accident.

While exiting an automatic car wash, I pressed the brake pedal to put the vehicle in gear and while turning in the lot to go to a vacuum station the accelerator stuck and went to wide open full speed mode and I could not stop it with the brakes. I shot through a vacuum stall, jumped a curb and hit a concrete drain collection box. The air bags deployed but the car was a total loss.

BACKING UP TO PARKING SPOT A HOME, FROM A DEAD STOP I GOOSED THE THROTTLE TO GO UP A SLIGHT INCLINE AND THROTTLE STUCK WIDE OPEN IN REVERSE. STOOD ON THE BRAKE FOR 20FT WHILE FIGHTING THE THROTTLE, HIT THE SIDE OF GARAGE AND THREW IT INTO DRIVE AND CONTINUED TO STAND ON THE BRAKES FOR ANOTHER 40FT IN DRIVE. AFTER SMASHING THE IGNITION BUTTON FRANTICALLY ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES AND ALSO ENGAGING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, THE JEEP SHUT OFF. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN OUR DRIVEWAY THAT OUR CHILDREN PLAY ON OFTEN. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT, AND NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WAY WORSE. NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT IN MY LIFE UNTIL THIS EVENT. COMPLETELY OUT OF MY CONTROL. WHEN VEHICLE HIT THE FENCE IT STARTED REVVING UP BEFORE SLOWING DOWN TO A NORMAL IDLE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TILTON AUTO BODY WHERE THE DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. IT WAS THEN TAKEN TO TILTON AUTO SERVE (TILTON, NH) FOR FRONT END ALIGNMENT. I AM A FIREFIGHTER WITH CHESTERFIELD COUNTY FIRE AND EMS IN CHESTERFIELD VA. I RECENTLY WORKED AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING A NEWER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH A PUSH BUTTON START. THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED, ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DRIVER MOVED THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE CENTER CONSOLE TO THE "P" POSITION. THE "P" BLINKED RED. THE DRIVER TRIED TO POWER DOWN THE VEHICLE, AND THE DISPLAY SHOWED "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK" AND WOULD NOT SHUT DOWN. WE HAD THE DRIVER HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR OVER A MINUTE AND THE VEHICLE REMAINED RUNNING. I ENDED UP PULLING THE IGNITION SYSTEM RELAY, IN THE UNDER HOOD FUSE / RELAY BOX TO GET THE VEHICLE TO POWER DOWN. WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO POWER OFF THE VEHICLE, IT CAUSED ADDITIONAL HAZARDS IN AN ACCIDENT SCENE, AS THE VEHICLE HAD A LARGE POSSIBILITY OF MOVING, POSSIBLY OVER OR INTO OTHER SAFETY PERSONAL ON SCENE. *DT VIN NOT AVAILABLE.*JB *DT*JB

CAR WAS STOPPED, PLACED IN PARK AND LEFT RUNNING IN DRIVEWAY. DRIVER EXITED VEHICLE, MANUALLY LOCKED WITH WITH THE EXTERNAL BUTTON ON DRIVERS HANDLE. DRIVER WALKED AROUND VEHICLE AND UP TO RESIDENCE. CAR BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD AND DRIVER RAN BACK TO VEHICLE, ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK USING MANUAL BUTTON ON PASSENGER FRONT HANDLE, WOULD NOT UNLOCK. PULLED OUT KEYFOB TO UNLOCK AND WAS ABLE TO DISABLE VEHICLE, BUT NOT BEFORE IT RAN ITSELF IN TO A CLOSED GARAGE DOOR. DRIVER NOTICED IT SLIP OUT OF PARK ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS WHILE IN VEHICLE. ONE DAY LATER, DRIVER WAS STANDING OUTSIDE VEHICLE, WHILE NOT RUNNING, AND NOT NEAR DOOR HANDLE AND CAR RANDOMLY LOCKED ON IT'S OWN.

THIS ROLL AWAY INCIDENT OCCURRED ON MARCH 7, 2019. MY 2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY THAT WAS NOT MY OWN AND I EXITED THE VEHICLE WHILE THE JEEP WAS IN PARK BUT IDLING. I EXITED THE JEEP WITHOUT AN INCIDENT (NOTICING ANY FORWARD MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE) AND WALKED TO THE PORCH TO DELIVER A LETTER TO THE HOMEOWNER. I WAS ON THE PORCH WHEN THE JEEP MOVED FORWARD INTO THIS HOMEOWNER'S GARAGE,CRASHING INTO THE TRASH CANS IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE FIRST AND PUSHING THEM INTO THE GARAGE DOOR. THIS CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE GARAGE DOOR AND IT'S TRACK. I WATCHED THIS INCIDENT FROM THE TOP STEP OF THE PORCH AND QUICKLY JUMPED INTO THE JEEP, PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND LOOKED AT THE DAMAGE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVEWAY. TWO DAYS LATER A CLAIM WAS FILED WITH FCA. THREE DAYS FROM THE INCIDENT, A EAA REPRESENTATIVE CONTACTED ME TO OBTAIN INFORMATION. FOUR DAYS LATER I WAS ASKED TO PICK UP MY JEEP FROM THE DEALER AFTER THEIR INSPECTION. ON APRIL 5TH, ALMOST A MONTH LATER, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FCA STATING THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND FAULT WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS HUMAN ERROR! I RECREATED THIS WHILE NOW IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. I OPENED THE DOOR AND WAS WARNED VIA THE TONE THAT THE DOOR WAS OPEN AS IT MOVED ABOUT 1-2 MPH UP THE DRIVEWAY IN D WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS.THERE WAS NO WAY ON 3-7-19 IT WAS IN DRIVE AS I COULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN OUT WITHOUT NOTICING IT MOVE THIS QUICKLY. IT ROLLED UP IT THAT FAST WITH MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. FCA STATED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THIS ACTION BUT THEY DID NOT EVEN TRY! AFTER LEASING OR PURCHASING IN THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY: 4 JEEPS (IT NEVER HAPPENED TO ANY OTHER PRIOR MODEL), AND 6 OTHER VEHICLES, I WILL NEVER OWN OR LEASE ANOTHER FCA VEHICLE AGAIN. THE INABILITY FOR THIS BILLION $ COMPANY LIKE FCA TO REPLACE A GARAGE DOOR AND SAY IT WAS OWNER ERROR WILL KEEP ME FROM RECOMMENDING THIS COMPANY TO ANY FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER. *BF*JB

2016 JEEP GRAND CHERROKEE WAS MAKING LEFT 90 DEGREE TURN AT APPROX 5 MPH ON AN A NON-PUBLIC CITY AIRPORT ACCESS ROAD, HIT A SMALL GOLF CART AND STOPPED. DAMAGE TO THE GOLF CART WAS MINOR AND CONSISTED OF BROKEN PLASTIC PARTS. VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE JEEP WAS A DENTED LICENSE PLATE. THE FRONT WHEEL WERE FROZEN IN THE LEFT TURN POSITION AND COULD NOT BE MOVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A JEEP DEALER, WHO REPORTED THAT THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY WAS FROZEN AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DISASSEMBLE OR REPAIR THE PART. THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS $5,020.00. THE VEHICLE HAS 33,040 MILES AND IS WELL MAINTAINED, WITH NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS.
