TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HER DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS PUSHED IN AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH SIDE AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE USING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. A REPRESENTATIVE WITH THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT A REQUEST WOULD BE SUBMITTED TO A SPECIAL INVESTIGATION UNIT SO THEY COULD INSPECT THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THAT HAS NOT OCCURRED. SHE MADE MORE THAN FIVE UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO FOLLOW UP WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND NO ONE RETURNED HER CALL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO HER LEG. THE CONTACT WAS PREGNANT AND LOST HER CHILD AFTER THE CRASH OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,858.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE, I BOUGHT MY JEEP NEW IN 2014. IT WAS EQUIPPED WITH READY ALERT BRAKING (RAB). IN 2016 IT FAILED TO STOP CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND INJURING MY WIFE. THEN RECENTLY I DISCOVERED THE RAB SYSTEM ON MY CAR HAD BEEN RECALLED (14V104000) BACK IN 2014 AND I HAD NEVER BEEN NOTIFIED. AS I REVIEWED THE RECALL CAMPAIGN IT WAS ABUNDANTLY CLEAR IT HAD CAUSED MY WIFE'S 2016 ACCIDENT AND INJURIES. I CONTACT JEEP'S HOTLINE RELATING IN AN ODD QUIRK I HAD RECEIVED WRITTEN PROOF IN AN UNRELATED CORRESPONDENCE FROM CHRYSLER THAT MY 2013 WAS BUILT WITH THE RAB SYSTEM INCLUDED. INSTEAD OF TRYING TO REMEDY THE RECALL OVERSIGHT THEY TOLD ME TO "CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY." A WEEK LATER I TRIED TO RE-EXPLAIN THE FAULT WAS WITH THEIR FACTORY INSTALLED AND RECALLED READY ALERT BRAKE SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE. BECAUSE THEY WON'T BOTHER TO REVIEW THE PROOF I HOLD NOR BELIEVE THEIR BUILD (VIN) DATA IS WRONG I HAVE NO PLACE TO TURN EXCEPT YOU OR A LEGAL REMEDY. I HOPE YOU CAN MOTIVATE JEEP TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THANK YOU.
MY VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH CHRYSLER'S READY ALERT BRAKING SYSTEM (RAB) WHICH CHRYSLER SAYS IS NOT INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE ACCORDING TO IT'S VIN. THE RAB SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE (WHICH WAS RECALLED UNDER YOUR CAMPAIGN 14V104000) CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES EXACTLY YOU DESCRIBED AS THE REASON FOR YOUR RECALL CAMPAIGN IN THE FIRST PLACE. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE SYSTEM. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FROM NEW AND THE RAB SYSTEM WAS EVEN DEMONSTRATED TO ME BY THE DEALERSHIP SALESPERSON DURING MY ORIGINAL TEST DRIVE. IN ADDITION TO ACCIDENT/MEDICAL REPORTS, THE BROKEN ANKLE BONES COULD ONLY HAVE COME FROM UNFORGIVING HARD BRAKE PEDAL, DURING THE CRASH AS OUR VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP.
MY JEEP WAS REAR ENDED AT 50 MPH WHILE AT A STANDSTILL. I WAS READY TO TURN LEFT IN IN THE LEFT LANE. VEHICLE CAME UP BEHIND ME IN THE WRONG LANE AND DID NOT SLOW AND HIT ME FULL SPEED. . AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. HEADRESTS CAME APART AND SPLIT INTO TWO PIECES THROWING MY HEAD AND BODY FORWARD. I WAS THE DRIVER. BACK END OF CARWAS HIT SO HARD IT WAS PUSHED UNDER THE CAR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON AN ACCIDENT IN THE SIDE AND FRONT OF VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STOP BEFORE BEING HIT
ON JAN 7, 2015, WHILE I WAS DRIVING TOWARDS THE GARAGE, MY VEHICLE (GRAND CHEROKEE 2013) SUDDENLY (UNEXPECTEDLY) ACCELERATED AND, ALTHOUGH I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT CRASHED AGAINST THE WALL. THE VEHICLE ACTIVATED AIRBAGS BURNING AND BRUISING MY BODY; I WENT TO THE ER AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. SOME OF THE PARTS REPLACED FOR THIS CRASH INCLUDED, BUMPER AND HOOD ASSEMBLIES, A/C DUCTS AND EVAPORATOR, GRILLE, RADIATOR, HEADLIGHT, COMPUTER, WIPER WASH CANISTER, WATER PUMP, FAN, SEAT BELT AND ONE FENDER, ETC. IN ADDITION THE CRASH TOLL CAUSED STRUCTURAL DAMAGES TO THE PROPERTY. THE SERVICE SHOP COMPLETED THE REPAIRS ON FEB 27, 2015. ON MARCH 2 AND MAY 20, 2015 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER BECAUSE OF TRANSMISSION SHIFTING FAILURES. THEY FINALLY CHANGED THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION BY MAY 29, 2015. ON JULY 2 I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SERVICE CENTER BECAUSE THERE WAS A NOISY RIDING AND CHECK ENGINE WAS ON; BY JULY 16 THEY HAD REPLACED ONE SHOCK ABSORBER, THE GAS PUMP AND TANK, AND ONE OXYGEN SENSOR (MILEAGE AT THIS POINT 22,594). ON JULY 22, 2015 I WENT BACK AGAIN BECAUSE OF CHECK ENGINE AND THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR REPLACING THE CATALYST. BECAUSE OF THE UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION EVENT, ALL ABOVEMENTIONED REPAIRS, PLUS FIVE EXECUTED RECALLS (ONE STILL OPEN R909/NHTSA 14V-115) AND AN IMMINENT SIXTH RECALL FOR START BUTTON (THAT DOES NOT SHUTS OFF); I DON'T TRUST THIS VEHICLE'S SAFETY AND QUALITY. I'M AFRAID OF HURTING ME OR SOMEONE ELSE; I COULD NOT AFFORD REPAIRS AT UPCOMING WARRANTY EXPIRY. THEREFORE, I HOPE YOU BUY BACK THIS DEFECTIVE GRAND CHEROKEE 2013.

THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT'S WIFE NOTICED THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET HIMSELF, HIS WIFE, AND CHILD OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT OPENED THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. A POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY HAVE HAD COMPLICATIONS DUE TO INHALING A LARGE AMOUNT OF SMOKE, HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION AS OF YET. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND OPENED A CASE REGARDING THE MATTER WITH THE CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000. I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ON A CITY STREETWHEN MY EYES AND THROAT STARTED BURNING. MY 10 MONTH OLD INFANT BEGAN TO CRY AS I REALIZED SMOKE WAS FILING THE CABIN. I PANICKED, AND PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE CAR AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY BABY OUT OF THE CAR. WE REMAINED IN THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ASSISTANCE. I CONTINUED SEEING SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR. WHEN ASSISTANCE ARRIVED, I REALIZED THE RIGHT VISOR HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE AND A RESULT WAS BURNED WITH A BLACK HOLE. I TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JANUARY 6, 2015 TO GET IT SERVICED FOR RECALL P 36, WHICH IS RELATED TO THE SUN VISOR WIRING. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP, THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN COMPLETED. I CONTACTED CHYRSLER CUSTOMER SUPPORT AFTER MY JEEP WAS ON FIRE AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS SO RUDE AND TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET MY CASE REVIEWED. THIS WAS NOT A SURPRISE, AS I HAVE DEALT WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE PAST AND HAVE NEVER HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I FEARED FOR MY SAFETY AS WELL THE SAFETY OF MY INFANT. I REFUSE TO DRIVE THAT CAR, AND WAS TOLD BY THE CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE THAT I SHOUKD TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHY THEY WOULD SUGGEST THAT ? I DON'T KNOW. I DON'T FEEL SAFE AND NOW I AM CAR LESS AS I WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO REVIEW MY CASE.
My son was hit head on in a very serious accident and his airbag on driver side didn’t fully deploy resulting in injuries. I’m not sure what component was faulty but the airbag should have fully deployed.
My vehicle while I am driving completely stalls on me and I have to wait at least 45 minutes to turn my vehicle on. In 2001 Jeep was forced to do a recall however the situation is still the same with the jeeps stalling. This is a situation that can be life threatening when on a highway if an accident occurs.
I HAD CRUISE AT 80MPH ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND DISENGAGED ON EXIT RAMP BY USING THE BRAKE. THE CAR SLOWED BUT I USED BRAKE AGAINN TO YIELD ONTO 4 LANE ROAD AND AGAIN TO CROSS OVER 2 LANES INTO A GAS STATION. I PULLED UP TO PUMP SLOWLY. WHEN I PUT THE BRAKE ON AGAIN TO COMPLETTE THE STOP,THE CRUISE REENGAGED AND THE CAR TOOK OFF. LUCKILY THERE WAS OPEN PARKING SPOT,I AIMED THERE AND CAR JUST KEPT GOING. OVER A CURB, THROUGH ABOUT 75 YARDS OF GRASS AND INTO A FIELD,ABOUT 25 FEET IN. NO BRAKING EVEN THO I TRIED. IN THE BRUSH WAS A CONCRETE BLOCK I HIT THAT CAUSED BOTH PASSENGER TIRES TO BLOW AND THEN THE CAR SLOWED AND WENT TO THE LEFT SOME 5 FEET AND STOPPED. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I ONLY PLOWED DOWN SMALL BRUSH AND MISSED A TREE IN MY PATH WHEN CAR VEERED LEFT AFTER TIRES BLEW. IT WAS A DRY SUNNY MORNING WITH NO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. I HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVING FOR AN HOUR AND HAD STOPPED TO GET GAS AND USE RESTROOM. THEPA STATE TROOPERS CAME BUT SINCE NO DAMAGE TO OTHER PROPERTY AND NO INJURIES, THEY DID NOT FILE A REPORT. USAA INSURANCE NOTIFIED AT ONCE AND TOOK THE CAR. THEY CLAIM IT AS A TOTAL LOSS. I AM BLESSED TO BE OK BUT THIS CRUISE/BRAKE MALFUNCTION COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY ANYWHERE ELSE. I HOPE YOU WILL INVESTIGATE I WOULD NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO EXPERIENCE THIS
LUG NUTS HAVE STARTED SWELLING OR BALLOONING AND HAVE STARTED BREAKING. 3 LUG NUTS HAVE BALLOONED WHERE THEY ARE NO LONGER TIGHT ON THE STUD. THE OTHER LUG NUTS CAN'T BE REMOVED WITHOUT BREAKING THE STUD. IF I'M HAVE A FLAT, I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE WITHOUT BREAKING THE LUG STUD.

THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK THE GUARDRAIL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE PERSISTENT AND OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO THE CLOSEST DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE OUT OF THE SEAT BELT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE REVVED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND I HIT THE BRAKE AND THEN SLIGHTLY HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND MY TRUCK ACCELERATED AND WENT OUT OF CONTROL SMASHING INTO TWO OF MY NEIGHBOR'S VEHICLES!
