MY SON WAS INVOLVED IN AN UNEXPLAINED CAR ACCIDENT ON 9/26/15 IN OUR 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CRASH RESULTED IN EXTENSIVE PHYSICAL AND FIRE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE LOSS OF MY SON'S LIFE. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY AND THE CAUSE REMAINS UNKNOWN. SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN RECALL R60 FOR UNINTENDED AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. MY SON WAS A NEW DRIVER AND ANYTHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO INFORMS ME SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED AND DISPOSED OF PRIOR TO THE RECALL THEY CAN NOT HELP ME AND I MUST CONTACT THE SUBROGATION DEPARTMENT TO TRY TO GET MY INSURANCE COMPANY'S MONEY BACK. THIS IS NOT MY CONCERN THOUGH I HAVE NOTIFIED MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I'M ANGRY THAT THIS MAY BE THE REASON MY SON IS NO LONGER WITH ME AND ALL I GET IS A SO SORRY, THE CAR IS GONE, WE CAN'T HELP YOU. On 10/21/21 myself and my child (rear passenger in booster safety seat) were in a solo vehicle accident that resulted in our vehicle hitting an embankment before rolling 3x landing on the wheels again in the right position on the same side of vehicle we originally had impact. We were less than 1 mile from our home, headed to school, there was no unsafe conditions, and I don't have any memory of the morning or accident due to severe injury and brain injury, but there's no reason or logical reason for me to be driving in the manner or at the speeds that I was. I passed a car in front of me on a very rural road right as we came upon the almost figure 8 curves on a road I drive everyday. The people I passed and many witnesses including my small child stated that I was gaining more speed as we came to the sharp curves, I crashed at approximately 65-70mph on a 30mph road, there were no brake marks or any sign of an attempt to slow down on my part, but I have too wonder because I am not sure anything that would have made me want to drive that recklessly, especially when I had my child in the vehicle. My child was asked what was happening before we wrecked and she said she heard a pop sound? And I said "oh [XXX]", that was the last thing that happened. We rolled 3x with not one airbag deploying, and the way that the jeep is caved in, I am very much interested in this model being looked over for structural flaws, pictures will be provided. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HIT ANOTHER CAR THAT WAS STATIONARY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD IMPACT ON THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY TRUCK, FLIPPING THEIR CAR AS WELL AS MY TRUCK. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAD NO INDICATION LIGHTS ON MY DASH AND HAD NO KNOWN ELECTRICAL ISSUES. LUCKY THE CAR I HIT WAS UNOCCUPIED AND I RECIEVED A FEW MINOR INJURIES.

CONSUMER PURCHASED DEFECTIVE VEHICLE ON 03/29/18. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER AND AN UNKNOWN DEALER WERE NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. THE NATURE OF THE INJURIES WERE GENERAL BRUISING TO THE HEAD, ARMS AND LEGS. THE CONTACT WAS TREATED AND RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER A MANUFACTURERS AIR BAG RECALL A MONTH PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

ON AUGUST 21 , MY SON AND I WERE PROCEEDING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION DOING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN AN ONCOMING DRIVER FAILED TO YIELD AND TURNED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OUR JEEP. WE WERE WEARING OUR SEAT BELTS. WE BOTH SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. I DON'T REMEMBER MUCH AFTERWARDS. WE ARE HEALING AND JUST THANKFUL WE ARE ABLE TO TELL OUR STORY. THE JEEP HAS BEEN DECLARED TOTALED DUE TO EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE AND A BENT FRAME. THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. HOWEVER, I STILL HAVE TO WONDER WHY THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
SWERVED TO AVOID A DEER AND ENDED UP IN THE DITCH. MY AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY AND MY FACE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. CUT ABOVE EYE REQUIRING STITCHES, MY TEETH CUT THROUGH MOUTH REQUIRING STITCHES. SEVERE CONCUSSION. COMPRESSION FRACTURES L1-L3, T4-T8 IN BACK. MY RIGHT CLAVICLE WAS BROKEN DUE TO SEAT BELT NOT CATCHING. AIR LIFTED TO HOSPITAL.
THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ROLL OFF A CLIFF, LANDING ON FRONT END ROLLING SEVERAL TIMES THEN ROLLED SIDE OVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE AIRBAGS ON BOTH SIDES FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THIS ACCIDENT. THE DRIVER HAD MULTIPLE BRUISES AND CUTS AROUND HEAD, NECK AND ARMS. ALONG WITH A CONCUSSION THAT IS JUST BEGINNING TO CLEAR UP AFTER 2 WEEKS. *TR
